Olive Oakley
Olive most certainly did not want to try it on her own, not right now. She was much, much too scared to try something as difficult as swimming out on her own, not when she felt that she still needed guidance in this matter. She nodded a little though, looking down at her form in hopes of hiding her fear from him, in case he noticed. He was a hunter, after all; they noticed quite a bit.

She managed to keep steady for about another minute or so, treading carefully in proper form with Jesse's hands at her waist, then she realized there was a few kids – on the other side of the lake – who had decided they wanted to have a late-night skinny-dipping endeavor. There were two boys, and three girls (two of whom had rather large busts). It was very difficult for her to ignore them; not because of her thirst, since she had just drank a full bag of blood that morning, but because they were loud. Very loud. And a lot of the boys were attempting to touch some of the girls' breasts, and they didn't seem to mind at all, and it was making her uncomfortable. After all, in college, all of the boys had wanted her friends, since they had boobies, and she'd been left alone. Which had sucked.

"Jesse, I wanna go," she murmured softly, resting her forehead against his shoulder in the water.

Puck rolled her own eyes at his comment. She could make any amount of comments along the lines of, Belive me, if I was your mother, I would've killed myself/had an abortion/put you up for adoption, but they were all too cruel, and she didn't really know much about how demons were created in hell. (And besides, she'd grown up in a house with three brothers and her dad after her mom ran off, so she had no room to talk.)

She took the hot sauce from him to use to dunk her crust in it, then grabbed two more slices. After all, grease and carbs and fat or not, she still needed food, and her exercise would keep any excess fat off, and the rest, she would use in her training. And besides, for putting up with the demon, she deserved to treat herself sometimes.

She pet Omelette on his head again, giving him a much-wanted belly rub (he looked extremely happy to be getting one), before she went into the kitchen to make sure that'd she'd filled his dish for lunch. Seeing that she hadn't, she put her plate down on the counter and put some kibble into it, along with a puppy treat, and watched as he happily waddled over and began to eat.

Jesse Hawthorne
Rather used to tuning people out, as his jobs often required honing in on one particular subject during investigations, it was a simple matter for him to completely ignore the group of rowdy teenagers a good ways down the river. As an added bonus, they were behind him, so he had no visual of the teens either.

Once his meek companion brought it to his attention, though, his focus shifted from how well she was balancing her speed and strength in the water to the amount of noise the skinny-dippers were making. Did it really bother her that much? At this point, he had no idea they were jumping in naked, or that there was groping galore amongst the herd of delinquents, but after turning to look over his shoulder, Jesse immediately felt heat rise to his cheeks and his gaze instantly snapped back to Olive. "Uh, yeah, let's go."

Easily swimming in a slightly crooked version of the sidestroke, all the while holding her with one arm, he got them back to the shallows and stood the vampire on her feet. Next up was to grab their towels, and after handing one to her he began to dry himself off. It was a shame they'd had to stop so quickly; the weather was beautiful, and the water had been perfect. The Hunter supposed it shouldn't be that surprising that the pair of them hadn't been the first to think of taking a dip that night.

He watched the sexy Huntress interact with and feed the dog with half-interest - the other half, of course, being devoted to the pizza in front of him. Four slices and a half a bottle of hot sauce later, he'd finished his food. As soon as he'd put his plate in the sink and washed the last of the delicious sauce off of his hands, he went to his usual spot on the couch to flop and watch TV, forgetting about both his obligation to do laundry as well as their plans to do experiments to learn how to better deal with demons.

She felt pretty bad when Jesse looked confused over her wanting to leave the water. After all, they'd been making progress – or, rather, she had been making progress – and being in the water hadn't been too terrible. But when he turned around, and the hunter realized what was making Olive so uncomfortable... well, she was glad that it made him even more uncomfortable (clearly), so she didn't feel so terrible anymore.

"Thank you," she murmured softly as he helped her out of the water. Honestly, she still didn't trust herself yet to swim on her own, even such a short distance, especially when those naked teenagers were distracting her. She took the offered towel and dried off the best she could, wrapping it finally around her waist. "Sorry 'bout... 'bout having to cut our lesson short..." she murmured as they headed to the car.

Once she finished eating her own five slices, Puck put the remaining slices of the second pizza into the fridge, then set the hot sauce back into the cabinets. Once the kitchen was picked up, she started another grocery list, putting hot sauce at the top and – after checking the fridge's contents – wrote down milk, ham, eggs and butter.

Rolling her eyes at the demon's lazy behavior and mentally reminding herself to not be surprised that he was basically useless, she separated the clothes they'd gotten at Goodwill, setting the demon's in a clothes basket near the couch, for him to get whenever he decided to clean his clothes, before taking part of her load properly into the washing machine. She knew she didn't need to clean the belt, backpack or leather jacket, so she loaded in the colors and put the rest away in her closet.

"Don't try loading your things in with mine!" Puck warned from the laundry room. "'Cause that'll dick everything up, and I'll be really pissed if that happens!"

Jesse Hawthorne
The prudish boy had been enjoying the water, but not quite to the point where he was willing to deal with skinny dippers. Jesse was more than happy to skedaddle when the bunch came along to ruin their night; better safe than awkward. That was how the saying went, right? Yeah, it was something like that.

Scruffing up his hair as he attempted to thoroughly dry it, he muttered, "Don't apologize. It wasn't your fault." Nope, it was those obnoxious idiots' fault. Then again, he supposed the group may not have noticed them, as they'd been rather quiet, especially compared to the other swimmers. His short, stubborn locks refused to get any more dry than what would most accurately be described as 'damp', so he simply moved on to dry off the rest of himself before pulling on his shirt.

He led her back to the car, opening the door for her as per usual and then tossing their bags in the back. Laying out his towel on his seat, he got in and shifted around on the towel until he was satisfied that he wasn't getting the seat wet. Covering his mouth with the back of his hand to stifle a yawn, he started up the car. Though the sun had set some time prior, it was early yet, but he found himself wanting to sleep already. It was more a mental exhaustion than a physical one; a lot had happened, between his first failed job and the constant feeling that his uncle's disapproval could come back to bite him - and his vampire companion - at any point in time.

The mental stress taking its toll, he decided he wanted something to focus on besides the usual dull hum that music became when he thought too hard. Conversation was a great distraction from the world inside his head. And to be honest? He'd had plenty enough of the awkwardly silent drives; it was time he learned more than just the girl's name. "You know..." He began, the car pulling onto the road as he started the drive back to the motel. "I don't know much about you. Your name, that you were a college student. That's it." He was still the same old Jesse, unable to think of much of a conversation starter besides stating the obvious, but it was a step up from where he'd been before.

"Yeeesss, moooom." He echoed his earlier remark, this time sounding even more like a whiny child. Besides, it was her job to dick everything up! Or, at least, make dicks go up. He supposed it was basically the same thing, if you twisted the words around a little. While Maxwell figured it would likely be a good idea to go watch her do her laundry so he could know how to do his, he then decided nah, the couch was way too comfortable to drag himself off of. Laundry was a woman's job, anyway! It wasn't like he was in a female vessel anymore. Plus, if she didn't want him to smell terrible, then maybe she shouldn't keep him locked in a collar! Max nodded to himself at this thought. She would just have to deal!

Watching Jesse scrub the water out of her hair, Olive knew very well that hers would just poof up more than usual if she attempted the same thing, so she decided to let it air dry. She removed her towel from her waist, though, to put it in the seat, just like Jesse had. It was his car, after all, and she wasn't going to mess it up.

She also noticed him yawning, and was about to ask if he was tired and would like to go to sleep when they got back to the hotel... but he might take that the wrong way, like he wasn't a good enough hunter to stay awake all night. After all, at college, some of the men her 'sisters' dated were very hormonal like that. Manly men needed to be manly men, and women needed to be women, and all that jazz.

Olive was a little surprised when Jesse began to talk in the car, because – unless they were in their normally awkwardly silent car-rides – most of their conversations in his car had consisted of scolding. Specifically, him scolding her before she would get spanked. Which wasn't pleasant. So, since his talking was peaceful, she relaxed a little (since it was clear, at least for now, that she had done nothing to warrant another bottom-warming).

"Well..." she answered softly, "I'm an only child. And I grew up with my mum and dad... They wanted me to be a nurse, but I wanted to go on adventures and things..." Which might explain, along with her penchant of climbing trees, how she had managed to break four different bones by the time she was eleven. "And you know that I was in a sorority..."

Puck rolled her eyes, as she cleaned around the kitchen for the next half-hour or so, waiting for her clothes to finish washing. Yes, cleaning was a more 'feminine' trait, which could easily be something for the demon to pick on her for, but she was not going to live like a pig, or a molding sponge.

"You gonna do anything with yourself today, lazyass?" Puck quipped once the kitchen was clean. Omelette had jumped (or attempted to jump) into the demon's lap, because he very, very much wanted his ears scratched and tummy rubbed. "'Cause if not, I was gonna experiment on your vessel once the sun goes down." After all, then they could find somewhere to practice in the dark, where they wouldn't attract so much attention.

Her meek responses weren't entirely unexpected. The sleepy male listened quietly, but her belated introduction was too short for his liking. Perhaps it could be inferred that he wished to keep her talking for the sole reason that he didn't want the questions reciprocated, and would far rather keep her on the subject of herself than have to answer inquiries about his own past. Not only was it uninteresting, but he was much more of a listener than a speaker, and it often made him uncomfortable to tell others about himself. It wasn't entirely fair of him to think this way, but such was life.

With a vacant nod as he shifted around in his sand-filled shoes, he encouraged her to elaborate. Knowing about her being in college - as well as a rather odd sorority - he asked, "Is that what you were studying for? To become a nurse?" He sent a tiny glance her way as acknowledgement before quickly returning his eyes to the darkening stretch of road in front of them. Nighttime was already falling, and oddly he found himself growing sleepier and sleepier. While he was in no danger of falling asleep, he was confused as to why his drowsiness was washing over him so early and so quickly.

Blankly looking over at the Huntress, he grabbed Omelette before the pup could slide off the side of the couch and helped the dog a bit by hefting him up into his lap. Happy to oblige scratches to the cute creature, he kept an empty gaze on Omelette as she recited her plans for the evening. Just as he had been for the entire span of time between his suggestion and that very moment, Maxwell felt conflicted. He wanted to know more about his - and other demons' - strengths and weaknesses, but there wasn't much he could see coming out of the scenario but pain, and lots of it, before he got to the answers he wanted. Decisions were hard! He didn't like them much. Though, he supposed he didn't actually have any, considering how he was, y'know, trapped by a Huntress.

Though, some part of him believed it was likely she'd not force him into it if he was truly against it. She was bitchy on occasion, but she didn't seem to be too awfully cruel.

"Nah, laundry's for women." He quipped as a response, leaning his head against the back of the couch and propping his feet on the table. It took a moment of thought before he continued. "Okay. Just tell me when you're ready to head out." Meanwhile he'd just continue his show... The sofa was comfortable and now if he got up he'd disrupt Omelette! That felt like a good enough reason not to get up in itself

Olive, for a moment, picked at her nails. For as long as she could remember, since childhood, her parents had consistently told her that she was going to grow up to be a nurse, then once she got married and had children, she could still work parttime and take care of her children. Never mind the fact that she didn't want children, or to be married for a long, long time. Or, to be honest, that she didn't even want to have a career in the medical field, for various reasons: the main reason being her nausea at the sight of blood (which had cleared right up when she had changed).

"Umm, no actually," Olive admitted. Of course, when she had told her parents that she didn't want to be a nurse, but she didn't know what she wanted to exactly do in college either, they had been rather disappointed, and they'd stopped returning her phone calls after three months. She had joined the sorority after her parents threatened to not pay her room and board, if she wasn't going to study pre-med: the sorority promised to get her enough scholarship to cover the rest of her costs. She'd only reconciled with her parents almost two weeks prior to her changing.

She explained this to the hunter in a small voice, as if she was worried that he might get mad at her also, for not wanting to be a nurse. "I... I think, now that I'm a vampire and I can look back, I... if I was a human, I probably should've just dropped out and became a fitness instructor or something, so I'd be healthy enough to go rockclimbing and travel and do all the things I wanted to do... but I didn't."

"That's not a good attitude to have," Puck scolded, having a strong hatred when people said 'you can't do so and so because only men/women do that'. "But I'll let you know."

As Omelette kept himself in the demon's lap, yipping happily and panting under his vessel's pets, Puck finished up her laundry and put it up, cleaned up her bedroom and re-checked all of the cabinets in the kitchen to make sure that her list for the grocery store was accurate.

"Come here, boy," she told Omelette after an hour or so, and the little puppy rolled onto the floor and trotted over to his owner, who kissed his head and put a leash on him. "We're gonna head out on a run. You're welcome to come with us."
