Hunting for trouble { Lyongirl
"Shhh, they're gonna hear you." Lucy hissed at her friend as he whimpered and ducked behind one of the cars in the old scrapyard. It was 10:35pm, a whole hour and a half after their bed times, so the pair knew they shouldn't be out. Lucy was a daring girl with little fear, a total tomboy and trouble maker. Her friend was less daring, a boy named Jackson, the son of one of the best hunters ever known -- Bobby Singer.
Lucy had been taken in last year by the fallen King of hell Crowley and was still getting used to the whole 'report to authority' deal since she sort of raised herself up. She loved her Daddy but she did often give him grief over hunting and doing as she was told. She was always dragging Jackson into trouble with her.
"Jack shut up, if Bobby catches you out here he'll tan yer hide." she scolded him, pushing a strand of short blonde hair behind her ear and taking out her leather bound hunter's journal. "Okay...Daddy and Uncle Bobby said something about a Vamp's nest in the next town over. If we catch the night coach we can make it there in an hour." she told the boy. She'd always seen him as a cousin or little brother, she felt responsible for him.
Bobby was glad he no longer had the King of hell as an enemy, and he stayed away from the Winchester boys which was a plus. Crowley had been dethroned by a powerful demon and his powers were restricted which meant he was more human than demon for the time being. He still had a darkness and cruelty in him, but that was just who Crowley was.
"I'm tellin' ya Crowley yer too soft on that kid o' yers." The man said and swallowed down a mouthful of beer. "If my boy had pitched a fit about bedtime like Lucy did, I woulda tanned his hide into next week." He currently had no idea about what the kids were up to, but it wouldn't be long before both he and Crowley found out.

"I'm not being loud!" Jackson snapped, trying to be as quiet as possible while still following after Lucy through the scrapyard. How did he ever get himself talked into this? Sneaking out was one thing, but going to a whole different town was something else entirely! What if they were caught? They had absolutely no excuse to be out of their rooms.
He fixed his lucky hat on his head as well as the strap of his overalls on his shoulder, praying to all the gods he could think of that the luck worked and all ended well. "How are we even gonna get on the coach, Lucy? I'm 12 and you're 14 and it's almost midnight." As he was rethinking this plan, he was finding more and more holes.
Crowley couldn't say he was exactly thrilled about being overthrown and having his powers restricted, at times he truly did miss the power of being the King of Hell, but the power came and went and sadly, his time was up. It wasn't all bad, he didn't have to deal with those Winchester Brothers anymore as well as Bobby. That was something he could do without, plus, he pretty much had to since his Darling Lucy had decided she liked being around the young Jackson Singer.
Crowley sighed softly as he sipped his drink and eyed Bobby. This tended to be a topic they went back and forth on more times than he'd like to imagine. "Well Lucy isn't your boy, now is she? I got her to go to bed, didn't I? I don't tell you how to raise your son and I'd greatly appreciated if you didn't tell me how to raise my daughter."

"Oh my god, shut up!" Lucy hissed when Jackson yelled that he wasn't being loud. The kid had the mouth of a freaking truck horn at times. She wasn't sure what her own Father would do if they got caught, since he'd never spanked her but always said things like 'Do that again and I'll put you over my knee, lass' or 'If you do I'll spank your backside raw'. Lucy always saw them as empty threats. She turned her blue gaze to her younger friend and sighed when he whined about the flaws in the plan.
"Just play it cool, no one's gonna ask. I got coaches by myself all the time when I was eleven and no one ever cared." she explained and hurried out of the scrapyard with him, taking out a flashlight so that they'd be able to see. "Stay close, okay?" she asked, though it was more of an order.
Bobby rose a brow when Crowley eyed him and said that Lucy wasn't his boy, and not to tell him how to raise his kid. "I aint tryin' ta tell ya what to do, jus' to give ya some pointers, yer new to this whole gig and I was jus makin the load lighter." he said simply and downed the remainder of his beer before getting to his feet. "I'm gonna go check on the pups." he told the fallen King and headed on upstairs to the large bedroom that Jack and Lu shared.
The old hunter peered in and frowned when he found both beds empty, not only that but there was a sheet rope cascading from the window down to the ground outside. "Balls!" he growled and headed back downstairs quickly, grabbing his boots, jacket and gun. "Kids aint in the house, we gotta go find em."

Jackson let out a soft groan and nodded in understanding. Hopefully, they would be able to get on the coach without question and nip this vampire nonsense in the butt. He just really wanted all of this to be over and to go home without a care in the world. Go to school, play a game and let life go on until his father's next mission.
"I really hope you're right about this Lucy, I really don't want to get in trouble. I mean, sneaking out is bad enough, but if he finds out I was planning on going to a different town?" Jackson just shivered at the thought of how pissed his father would be toward him. "Come on, the place should be right down the street. He said, pointing off down the path.
Crowley hated to admit it, but Bobby was right...just thinking about it gave him a bad taste in his throat. He was a new father...well, a new father to a little girl and he was still trying to learn the ropes of fatherhood. Bobby had been doing it for years and little Jackie seemed like a well enough boy, maybe a bit of a pushover, but that was more of his personality than how he was raised. He simply huffed and gulped down the rest of his drink.
"Yes, go on and check on them, I'll be here..getting another drink." Once Bobby had stepped out, he went out to the liquor cabinet and got himself a shot of whiskey. One more drink and he'd call it a night, but once he put the glass to his lips, he heard Bobby hurrying down the steps and went to get dressed. Well, that didn't look good at all.
"The kids are gone?!" Did those two truly sneak out? It had been nearly an hour since they put the two to bed. Who knows what could have happened to them or who they were with...or worse, what. Crowley set his glass on the table and rushed after Bobby, getting ready to head out with him. "We have to think. What could two little kids want to do so bad that they need to sneak out? They weren't exactly normal children so it wasn't as if they were going to the mall or a party...they were little mini hunters. His eyes widened some. "Do you think they tried to go hunting on their own?"

"Of course I'm right, I'm always right." Lucy answered when Jackson said he hoped she was right about this, and that he would be in huge trouble for going to a different town, "Jeez, they probably wont even notice we're gone, stop being such a wuss." she sighed and lead him along out of the junkyard and down the road leading into town, which was about a three mile walk. It was a hot night, so their pyjamas kept them cool since the material was thin. Lucy thought about her Father, and she hoped he didn't notice she'd snuck out, because he would be worried and she didn't want him to worry.
Lucy stopped and took off her backpack, looking inside at the long, sharp blade she kept there, "You gotta kill a vamp by cuttin' off its head." she told her younger cousin who looked terrified of the weapon. "Daddy wont mind if I borrow it..."
Bobby thought about why the kids would possibly want to leave home in the dead of night, and then he remembered that Lucy had overheard them talking about a vamp nest in the next town over. He prayed to god that wasn't where they had gone, but it was likely that it was. "Balls." he growled and looked at Crowley. "They heard us talkin' about the vamps, I think they're gonna try and clear out the nest on their own." he told the demon and hurried outside and to his truck.
"C'mon, we'll cut em off before they get into town." he said as Crowley got into the truck with him. "Oh when I get my hands on that boy of mine..." he growled, heart thumping because he was so scared something could happen to him.

Jack rolled his eyes. "If you're always right, why do you always get in trouble...and I'm not a wuss..." He walked beside Lucy quietly, just trying to collect his thoughts at this point. "So...do you know how many vamps are gonna be in the nest? We can't exactly just rush in there if we don't know what we're up against."
When Lucy stopped in her tracks, Jack quickly stopped beside her. He tilted his head, just wonder what the sam heck she was doing and went wide eyed when he saw the blade. "You took your dad's blade? Have you gone bonkers in the brain stem?" They were just getting in deeper and deeper trouble. "Put that away before someone sees is and let's go." With thatvsaid, Jackson hurried back down the path to thevtown, going into his own bag to grab a snack. He tended to snack when he was nervous.
Crowley's eyes went wide for a moment. Going to a vampire nest?! He doubted they would be able to get that far, but even if they did, they're children, they would be eaten alive! He went to go and get his knife just in case, but quickly realized it was not where he left it and he knew exactly where he left it though he had an idea on where it was now.
He followed Bobby to the truck and frowner. "For their sake they better not be too far.." He said as he crossed his arms

"The way Daddy and Uncle Bobby talked about them, I think there's like eight or something." Lucy answered and then pulled out the blade to explain to her younger cousin about how it worked, how they were going to kill the vamps by beheading them. She rolled her eyes when the boy gasped and asked if she was bonkers. "So he'll ground me and lecture me, big whoop." she shrugged and nodded when the younger kid said to put it away and go. "Good idea."
"You hungry? I packed some candy bars." She smiled, digging into the front pocket on the backpack. "Here." she handed her little cousin one and smiled. She was very fond of him, even if she thought he was a big wuss at times.
Bobby nodded his head at that and really sped up in the truck, driving down the dirt road and it only took about ten minutes until Bobby saw two kids in pyjamas walking along down the right side. "There!" he pointed and swerved the truck into a halt by the side of the road. Bobby then climbed out and frowned. "Jackson Robert Singer!" he barked firmly and approached his young son, taking his arm and applying five firm swats to his bottom. Bobby then said nothing and just pulled the kid into his arms tightly.
"The hell were ya thinkin' boy?! Goin' off like that and worryin' yer old man!?" he asked, scooping the boy up so that he was carrying him. "Yer in HUGE trouble when we get back."

Jackson simply sighed. Lucy was always so fearless, like she couldn't care less if she got in trouble. Jackson hoped to one day be like that...probably when he moved out and could live by his own rules and not his father's.
He looked over when she offered him a candy bar and couldn't help the smile forming on his face as he took it. "Thanks, all this walking is making me hungry." He said with a chuckle. He was just about to open it when he felt the shine of headlights coming for them. He looked up, hoping it wasn't some drunk driver about to run them ovee, but that sounded pretty nice about now when he noticed it was his dad's truck. He could only imagine the color fading from his face.
"D-dad! N-now daddy, I can explain!" He tried to move back, but his father was quick to grab him and have his hand come down hard against his backside, causing him to yelp and jump, trying to get away from them, but his dad easily kept him in place. He whimpered some and quickly tried to rub the sting from his backside when he was pulled into the hug and then picked up. "Dad, no! It wasn't my fault, Lucy was gonna go and I tried to talk her out of it, but she wouldn't listen so I came after her!"
Crowley joled forward some when the truck came to such an abrupt stop. How Bobby got a license, he'd never know, but now was not the time to worry about. He got out of the car and stormed off to his daughter, leaving Bobby to deal with his own child. "Lucy!! Are you absolutely out of your mind?! Sneaking out? Running off in the road at night? Do you have any idea on what could have happened to you or who could have snatched you and I wouldn't have known?!" Crowley was absolutely livid, relieved that his child was okay, of course, but livid. "You get your little arse in that truck right now young lady. I'velet you get away with some things for a while now, but this is where I draw the line!"
Crowley grabbed his daughter by her forearm and marched her to the truck. He opened the door for her before stopping for a moment. "And WHERE is my blade?"

Bobby was so pissed at his son, anything could have happened to him at this time of night. He was supposed to be tucked up in bed right now, safe and warm in his bedroom. The thought of losing his little boy was more than Bobby wanted to think about. He scowled down at his son when he said it was basically Lucy's fault and that he was trying to stop her.
"Then ya shoulda told me or yer Uncle Crowley." Bobby scolded his child knowing he was part of this and it wasn't all on Lucy. He was definitely going to tan his sons hide when they got home, since he knew better. "Ass, truck, now." He growled pointing over to the Singer mobile. "Yer gonna get a serious tannin' and then I'm gonna put'cha to bed." He informed his child, giving his bum another smack to get him moving.
Lucy had seen her Daddy mad before, but usually only at the demons working for him. He shouted at her often but she had never seen him that mad at her before. She looked down at her feet as that strong British accent scolded her but looked up sharply when she was told to get her 'little arse' in the truck and that he drew the line at this. Not daring to argue she walked to the open car door and bit her lip at the mention of the blade.
"Um it's here, Daddy." The girl answered, taking it out of her backpack and handing it over to her irate Father. "How long am I gonna be grounded for this time, Daddy?" Lucy asked innocently as she got into the back of the truck.

Jackson sometimes had the tendency to put the blame on others, ever since he was a child and would blame his wrongdoing on his toys. He hated getting in trouble and though it was wrong to pass the blame to others, it wasn't like Lucy was gonna get into any serious trouble. Most of the time all she got was yelled at and grounded. He was the one who got yelled at, grounded AND spanked, depending on the trouble.
Jackson just frowned, he should have never listened to Lucy, he should have just went to sleep and let her get in trouble on her own, now his dad was pissed at him and he was going to have to pay the price, while Lucy got off easy, or so he always assumed. " I'm sorry.." He mumbled softly as he jumped at the smack to his backside. He couldn't help but whimper some as he climbed into the backseat of the truck. He couldn't help but blush in embarrassment, he always hated how his father would just announce exactly what he was going to do whether it was just between them or in front of others.
Deep down Crowley was hoping that Lucy didn't have his blade, but low and behold, she did. He supposed he couldn't be too mad, at least she had some form of protection. Of course, he feared for his daughter against supernatural beings, but humans could be just as bad seeing two small children on their own, he didn't even want to think about what could happen to them had they been stopped by the wrong person. He took the blade from her hand and gripped it in his own.
"Grounded? If I had my way, you'd be grounded until you're 21. We'll discuss this when we get home." He said and with that, closed the door and before Bobby could hop back into the car, moved him to the side so they could talk more privately. "Bobby...you're right. Perhaps I have been a bit..lenient with her behavior as of late, but I haven't exactly been one to spank a child." Beat on people, sure. Beat on a child, his child at that, no. "You seem to be a very seasoned disciplinarian, what do you suppose I do?"
Jackson looked over the passenger seat in front of him as his dad was moved away by his Uncle Crowley and whimpered softly. "What do you think they're talking about Lu?"
