Then James turned his woeful eyes to his Mother to see if his apology would suffice.

Karen began to spank a bit harder realizing that not only didn't the older woman disapprove, it appeared she thought she wasn't spanking hard enough. When his step-mother let go of his hand, James' first move was to grab hold of his bottom and rub. His second was to 'run for it,' but alas. Mrs. Williams' seemed to fill the bathroom door making escape an impossibility.

As James looked at the older woman she smiled at the little boy and said, "This will be very good for you James and you ought to thank Mommy for taking such good care of you. There are so many mothers who are too busy to do the RIGHT things for their little boys. You should say, "Thank you Mommy for soaping my mouth."

James was spared having to REALLY do this, as Karen had well lathered a small hand towel and now picked up her son and lifted him into her lap.

Mommy's left arm wrapped around James hugging him close to her, while she held the soapy washcloth directly under his nose and said, "Open up James and don't you dare spit anything out until I tell you."

With tears running down his face, James had no alternative but to open his mouth, as he pressed his head back as far as it could go against his Step-mother's shoulder.

Mrs. Williams' eyes widened with expectation as Karen moved the foamy cloth to the child's mouth.
