Halren's smile wasn't quite bright enough to forget about his sore bottom, but, nevertheless, the boy was happy to see the cathar.

"...we are too, Juhani..." He lowered his head a little - she'd obviously heard his spanking. "..uh... sorry for the hold-up."

She smiled shyly at him. "It's alright."

Master Darus placed a hand on Halren's neck, leading him forwards.

Later, on the republic ship Coruscant, Master Darus was training both his charges in swordsmanship. He skillfully dodged each blow from Halren and Juhani as they swung their practice lightsabers.

"Good, but you still need to practise." He said.

Breathing hard, Halren lowered his guard.

"Yes, Master..." The boy rolled his shoulders back, and raised his guard again, waiting for the others, excited to continue.

Though the practise lightsabers couldn't cut flesh, they still could leave bruises if swung hard enough. Master Darus was using the soresu style, which focused on defense.

Juhani swung her lighsaber with both hands, trying to use her strength to force her way past Master Darus' guard.

Though Harlen was proud to know some Makashi tactics, he knew that he didn't really have a chance against his Master.

...which was probably why he was going to lose.

Even so, the boy made sure to use Juhani's overextension to their advantage, and poked at Darus' more open spots, hoping to keep him from capitalizing on Juhani's riskier fighting style.

Master Darus used the opening Juhani provided to trip her to the ground, his lightsaber pointed at her neck. "Alright Juhani, you're dead. Now it's just me and Halren."

Halren swallowed visibly.

"Uh... ...this is where I get backup, right?" The boy suggested, weakly, raising his guard for direct combat against the man.

"No, you're alone." He said as Juhani went to the sidelines to recover. "Feel the force flowing through you Halren. Don't concentrate on my blade, concentrate on where it's going to be."

Halren swallowed hard, nodding... and stepped forward, bringing the weapon up to bare.
