"I-I think so...", Sarah said and rubbed her bottom again pouting slightly,"... have to go to mum now. I think I owe her an apology. And another hug also wouldn´t hurt." Before she left however she glanced to the mirror, wondering how her friends were reacting to the scene.

(Sorry for taking so much time. I was a little frustrated because of another rpg.)

Though the monkey-like goblins still giggled at the girl's punishment, her friends showed both sympathy to Sarah and approval to her decision. Hoggle gave her thumb up and an encouraging smile, which made his unattractive face prettier, and Sir Didymus even saluted her with his sword.

Sarah showed her friends a faint smile and than ran out of the room still rubbing her bottom. The sting was still there of course but it started to become bearable. The girl looked for her mother as she had promised. While she searched the house she wondered how she got the idea that she could just dismiss her as some kind of evil stepmother. I simply read too many fairy tales, she thought and shrugged.

Irene was in the Tobby's room, looking after him... though at this point Sarah's baby brother was already asleep. The woman could hear some of the noises from Sarah's room (and, of course, was aware what Robert did there), but didn't show that she knew about girl's punishment. "Yeas, Sarah? Do you need anything?" Irene asked in a neutral tone.

The girl hesitated before she spoke, not really sure how to start. "I just wanted to say how sorry I am ... for the way I treated you all this time. I wish we could just start over... but, I can´t just erase the things I´ve said.", the girl said slowly. Suddenly she was unsure again even though she wanted nothing more than hug Irene so she finally felt fully accepted in this family.

"Your apology is enough for me, Sarah." Irene said softly in response. "I just hope we'll find a way to be friends from now on... And maybe even mother and daughter." The woman stepped forward and opened her arms, offering Sarah a hug. "Come here, would you, dear?"

"... you are my mother. I realize that now", Sarah said with a sad smile and embraced Irene. It was unbelieveable how good this felt. A great burden seemed to lifted from the teenagers shoulders and the world suddenly seemed much brighter... and fairer... than before.

Irene hugged her back, greatly touched with Sarah's response. She loved the girl from the very beggining and the distance between them, wjich remained despite all Irene's efforts, was really depressing. Now it all changed. The woman held Sarah in her embrace for rather a long time, and then she finally llooked into the teen's eyes, Iren's own eyes were full of tears. "I'm very happy to hear it, Sarah."
