On a cool winter night, it was almost Christmas and a lot of families were getting ready to gather together in preparation for the holiday. This includes one guy who was walking alone in the snow. Alex Adams was a 22 year old college dropout who just took the train to get in town for the holidays. He quit his job recently and was in between finding a place to live, so it was perfect time for the family to gather at the family home. He was shorter than average and had a bit of a beer belly to him. He had messy black hair and a mustache that was unkempt and didn’t look good on him. He sported an ugly Christmas sweater, blue jeans with stains on them and old shoes that had an odor to them. He soon made it to the front door of the home and knocked on it loudly

Emily Rosered had rather a big house, which came in handy every time she invited her whole big family for the holidays. She was a true matriarch and proud of it. Many children and even more grandkids (and even their kids now!) loved and respected her old-fashioned ways.

The house was already buzzing with cheerful voices and greetings, but Emily still noticed the knocking imemdiately. The tall woman in her mid 60's looked slightly chubby in her old-fashioned pink dress and her bun of grey hair and thick glasses made an impression of a stereotupical fraigle old lady. But Emily worked hard through her whole lief and was still quite strong, and her will was hard as adamant, though her manners were soft and loving.

"Alex! Come here, dear! Did you dress warm enough for the weather?" she happily greeted her grandson, inviting him in.

“I’m fine grandma. I can take care of myself.” Alex already had a bit of an attitude as the door was opened, showing his rather dirty clothes that had a bit of snow on them from the weather. He pushed himself out of his grandmother’s embrace as she was surely about to hug and kiss him, which he was not in the mood for right now as he rather rudely walked past her in search of where the alcohol was

Emily frowned as her grandson refused her affection so rudely. "At least shake off tehs now first, you'll leave water all over the house!" she demanded at his back, but he ignored the granny.

The house was filled with tasty smells, from baked poattoes and goose to special grandma's pies. There were also many people in ages from 40's to three. Alex's uncle, Alex's aunt, his niece and, of course, his mom Amanda, who hurried through the hall, there teh big, shiny christmas tree stood, to the young man.

"Hello, darling! I'm so happy to see you! Was the ride all right?" the fit dark-haired woman ina big knitted sweater and a long skirt looked him over and frowned worriedly. "Don't you ahve any better clothes? Are you short on money, darling?"

Alex was too busy looking for a good drink that he didn’t much keep in mind who was in the home with him until he was practically cornered by his mother, which caused him to roll his eyes. “I’m fine damn it! Can you people leave me be for 5 minutes!” He yelled, quite a bit embarrassed by his mother’s words as he tried to walk past her now but she might be a bit faster then his grandma at keeping him cornered

The yelp attracted some attention, and his relatives' heads turned to Alex. His mother flushed both from embarrassment and anger.

She grabbed the young man's sleeve. ”I haven't seen you in months, and that's how you greet me?! On Christmas Eve?! What came into you, Alex? " she scolded.

Meanwhile her mother approached the scene too.

“Just leave me alone! I’m not a kid anymore, you can’t treat me like this!” Alex complained as he yanked his sleeve out of the mother’s grasp before turning around to see other members of the party staring at the scene. He huffed as it was clear the roan of the party has changed with his arrival. “Just don’t talk to me.” He said a bit calmer as he tried to walk away once again

"For not a kid you make a very childish te,per tantrum" his mother frowned. Granny nodded with disapproval. Alex's 5 years old nephew pulled his father's sleeve and asked (everyone trned silent after the newcommer's loud protests, so it was easy to hear): "Why's uncle Alex behaves like this? Wi'ww he get a spankin'?"

“I’m not doing anything wrong! Leave me the hell alone!” Alex yelled as he moved past his mom and grandmother and made his way to the kitchen, ignoring the awkward stares as he went into the fridge to look for something

"I also satrt to wonder if Alex needs a sapnking..." Granma Emily said out loud, shaking her head very, very dsapprovingly. The buttocks of all her children clenched at the sight of that gesture as the long forgotten memories awakened.

Alex's mom hastilly folled him. "Watch your language, young man! What acme into you, Alex? Why do you ahve to come to your family and spoil teh Christmas Eve for everyone?" Amanda asked, sounding sincerely hurt, as she stood between her son and the opened fridge trying to get his attention.
