Learning Responsibility {for Ryft}

Cam wasn't really trying to frighten the child when he told her that she might be in trouble, he just wasn't in a position where he could really say anything else seeing as he was not going to be the one to look after her. Still he didn't dwell on that and just took the little one to the palace where he got some soup for her and then placed her at the table, watching as the child ate the soup and smiling slightly when she told him that it was good and then burped. "You are excused," he told her with a slight smile though he looked a little nervous when he heard footsteps and then turned to see none other than the King himself walking toward them.

King Tristan, better known as Fury, entered the dining room looking for his son though he was startled when he saw one of his knights with a small child. Deciding that this one bared investigating further he walked forward, looking at the two of them through his single violet eye.

Kaeli grinned as she resumed eating, blinking as she heard footsteps. She cringed as she saw the King enter, but didn't know that's who it was. She blinked as he looked at her, fidgeting nervously and gulping from light fear of the look she was given.

Camden was a little surprised when the King came into the room however he simply offered a bow as the slightly older kitsune looked in his direction and then looked to the child. "An orphan I encountered in the marketplace Your Majesty," he explained simply, knowing that it was always better to keep things short and to the point. "I intend to find someone to care for her once she has had a proper meal," he added, hoping that would not be a problem.

Fury's ears flicked slightly when Cam explained to him what was going on and when the man said that he was going to find someone to care for the child a thoughtful look came into his single violet eye. After pondering that for a short time Fury smirked slightly and said, "Give her to Kier. The boy could use some responsibility." He knew it wasn't something that was usually done and of course he would not expect his son to be fully responsible for the girl but at the same time he thought this would be good for the headstrong young prince.

Kaeli blinked, gulping as she heard Camden refer to the man as "Your Majesty". She tensed up, hoping she wasn't in trouble. She managed to finish her bowl, licking her lips clean as she listened to Fury speak. She tilted her head upon hearing a new name, but decided to keep silent. She fidgeted, still a bit nervous as she looked between the two,

Camden was a little bit taken aback when the king told him to give the child to the youngest prince but he wasn't typically one to question what was clearly an order so he simply bowed again. "As you wish Your Majesty," he said, watching as Fury turned to leave the room. Once the man was gone Camden turned to the girl and offered her something of a smile. "Looks like you get to play with Prince Kieran for awhile," he said, gesturing for her to come with him. "But don't worry, Kier's nice and all your needs will be met here." He wasn't sure if she would be frightened by the prospect of remaining in the palace or not but he did wish to put her mind at ease if it was something that she was worried about.

Kaeli watched as the King left, blinking as her nerves calmed. She stood up and followed him closely, looking around as she walked. She looked surprised as she learned she'd be living there, rubbing her full tummy. "Am I not allowed to go outside?" She asked him. She wasn't as much scared as curious, but she had a favorite spot outside by a lake that she loved to relax at and wade in the waters. She thought about it, then brought the place up to Camden.

Cam lead the child along, looking down at her when she asked about going outside, and he shook his head slightly though it wasn't to tell her that she wouldn't be able to do as such. "You will need permission to do so and someone will need to know where you are but no, I do not think that you will be confined to the palace," Camden told her, smiling slightly as she told him about a place that she liked to visit.

At that same time another kitsune was roaming the hallways, sort of aimlessly though he had the intention of going out to the courtyard and finding someone to spar with. Kieran caught sight of Camden as he turned a corner and he sort of gaped when he saw the child that was trailing along with him. "Taken up babysitting Cam?" he asked with a smirk.

Cam simply shook his head as he walked over to Kieran and gave the boy a pointed look. "No Kier but you have."

Kaeli blinked, nodding at Camden's response to her question. "You should go there sometime, it's nice." She said softly as she saw Kieran, tilting her head. She found their exchange funny, but wasn't sure if she'd get in trouble for laughing, so she covered her mouth to muffle her giggle.

Kieran sort of gaped at his teacher when Camden informed him that he had taken up babysitting, the prince just staring at the man through lavender eyes that were obviously both shocked and confused. "Um...no I didn't," he finally managed to say, glancing at the girl but not really paying much attention to her in this moment. He was more keen on figuring out just what it was that was going on here, the kit thinking that perhaps Cam was playing some sort of joke on him.

"Sorry that you have to hear about it this way Kier," Cam said when the boy said that he hadn't taken up babysitting. "But your father ordered this so you're sort of stuck."

Kaeli looked between the two, tilting her head a bit. The conversation half-interested her so she could see what'd happen to her; the other half of her was bored. She decided to explore, but stayed close to them, looking at the hallways and the assorted decorations. "Pretty.." She said to herself before glancing out a nearby window. After a moment, she walked back over to the two kitsune, not having gone too far from them.

(wasn't sure if the plural for "kitsune" had an "s" or not XD)
