Korra fell very quiet as her adopted mother scolded her for the actions. She knew that she was not suppose to interfere, unless it was nessersary. However, she could not just let someone rob someone, she was the avatar. “I know you don’t want me too. But... it just happens. Also, there might have been some damage to a few buildings and you might get a call soon,” Korra said not looking up. However, when she heard Lin say to come here. The girl shook her head. “No, I don’t want a punishment,” She said.

"This isn't negotiable. I've told you a million times not to interfere with police work, unless someone's life is in danger. Come here." Lin was not going to move from her chair if she could help it. If Korra came of her own volition, she might be willing to show some mercy. But if Lin had to come get here, the Avatar was going to be very sore by the end of this.

Korra shook her head at Lin as she did not want a punishment at all. “That’s not fair. I did not do anything too wrong. I was trying to help people. I’m the avatar, you just don’t want me too, because you think I’m too reckless about damages,” She said. The girl hated how strict Lin could be on the subject. The girl then looked at Lin and the door . Before, she could think the girl earthbended a small hole in the ground to escape out of, so she went right under Lin in her escape.

Lin easily used her own Earthbending to open up a hole right above Korra. She blocked off her path and lifted her out, tucking her under her arm as she brought her back over to her chair. Sitting down, she draped Korra across her lap, locking a leg around her middle to prevent any escape (Korra was quite a bit stronger than most children.)

Korra watched in horror as she felt herself dragged out of the hole. The bad part was even with her strength, Korra was small. The girl just turned 12, which meant she weighed only 90 pounds and only 4’10, since she did not hit puberty yet. This meant that Lin could pick her up rather easily and carry her off. The younger girl squirmed over her lap as Lin went into punish. She could keep bending, but it would not go her way. “Lin, Can’t we talk about this?” She whined.

"I think we've talked about it at least five times," Lin reminded her. "If there's one thing you know I hate, it's benders interfering with the police. And this is on top of you coming home late and giving me attitude all morning. This is well-earned, and I think even you know it!" Lin raised her hand high and brought it down with a loud smack on the seat of the young Avatar's pants.

The Avatar existed to create balance in the world from small to big things and that meant stopping robbers in Korra’s opinion. “But... Lin. I’m the Avatar not just some bender. I have to keep the peace,” She told her. It really was her ego as the avatar because the police could handle it. “I would have been on time and I apologized from this morning,” She said. She prepared herself for a Lin punishment because they could sometimes be brutal. Lin had a strong hand and could be quite strict.

Lin furrowed her brow, not recalling an apology. "I'm sorry you think I'm being unfair, but whether you realize it or not, this puts me in a difficult situation. As a police officer, I can't exactly allow you to run free, laying down the law as you see fit. My men would have handled it." Not to mention this would have all been avoided had Korra just followed her earlier instructions and stayed in her room and rested. Lin smacked again, and then again. Her swats were very firm, and she tended not to show mercy until she was positive Korra was repenting.

Korra kicked her legs some squirming in her adoptive mother’s grip as the smacks really did burn. Lin’s hand always felt like a hairbrush to the young Avatar. Her hands were very firm combined with her strength and muscle. It’s as enough to make the avatar cry. No matter how much Korra got lectured she was still annoyed. “I owww am not wrong. I’m the owww avatar, why do you not understand that owww?” Korra said. “I’m not just some kid,” She added.

"Yes, you are the Avatar." The smacks didn't pause. "Your job is to keep balance among the four nations, and keep the peace between benders and non-benders. You need to leave crimefighting to local authorities, and not get involved unless it's a matter of life and death. I'm sorry, Korra, but that's just how the world works in this century!"
