Legend of Korra: Alternate Past

Korra just nodded from her position over her lap as she could not do much, but lay there. Her bottom burned and was a solid red, as Lin could feel the heat from it, if she tried. The girl just nodded at her. “I.... got it,” The girl did not talk much as she cried more. “Kay... I won’t interfere with police,” She said. Lin knew that she would of course. “Also, ignore reports of vandalism, might have destroyed some,” She said.

"Right, of course," Lin sighed. She patted Korra on the back. "You can get up now. And I'll let you out of training today, since you're going to be sore at least until tomorrow."

Korra nodded as she good up and hugged her mother quickly. “I’m sorry mom,” She said actually calling her mom, which she normally did. “Thanks for not making me train,” She said as sometimes Lin would make her train with a sore backside.

"Oh, so I'm 'Mom' again, am I? I suppose that means you're not angry anymore." Lin squeezed Korra's shoulders. "And I suppose it's fine. Maybe if you're up for it a bit later, we can play a game of earthball. That's physically taxing enough to count as training." Tenzin had taught Lin and Korra the rules of airball, an old Airbender sport. They'd adapted it to use Earthbending instead, and it was one of the ways they bonded.

The girl turned red as Lin called her out on what she called her. “You know I call you that mostly, but not during training, cause than ya become a different person,” She said with her arms crossed. She then pulled her pants back up and rubbed her bottom “I would love to play earthball later, you’re gonna lose though old hag,” She said.

"I don't think so, kid. Go get something to eat and have a rest. And I do mean to actually rest this time. We'll play later. I have things to do in the mean time."

“Yes mom,” She said with a role of the eyes as she walked to her room for a nap. She stayed in her bed tired from the spanking and her earlier naughtiness.

Soon Tenzin came home and the moment he did Korra popped out. She knew Tenzin always tried to have patience with her and almost never punished her, so she always told on Lin. “Dad, mom punished me today and it was unfair. Plus, she was mean in training,” She whined.

Tenzin sighed, stroking his beard. Sometimes Korra had a legitimate gripe, and sometimes she was just tattling. It was frequently hard to tell which one it was. "She's always mean in training, dear. Even to me. Or rather, especially to me. What did you do that prompted her to punish you?"

Korra did rattle and sometimes did have a right to complain because sometimes Lin punished her out of anger or too harshly. However, Lin had gotten a lot better now. She decided not to lie either today. “Well... I gave her quite a bit of lip, lied to her, threw a rock at her, and interrupted police work. But... still,” She said.

"Well, then it sounds like you earned whatever punishment you received, frankly," Tenzin said, shrugging slightly. "You know interrupting police work is possibly the thing she hates most in the world. I can't say I'm surprised to hear it upset her..."
