Mom, doesn’t really know lightning though,” Zoe said. “I can kind of generate it, but last time I tried Grandma caught me,” Zoe said grabbing her bottom. “Hmm.. we could work on it, but it’s a prototype. I am trying it out with a weak shock right now that will work it’s way up to something better eventually,” She added.

Zoe thought about it and didn’t think it was completely ready yet. “Mom would really struggle with it, I think,” Zoe said bluntly. “She might destroy it, I would rather try on Mako first before I let anyone complete the job,” She added. “Anyways I might practice outside in the field for lightning, I know the basic technique,” She said.

Zoe nodded to that as she understood her mom wanted her to be safe after all. “Okay, I can agree with that. After all, I want to be safe,” Zoe said in agreement. “Let’s go see Mom then, I can hear her outside training,” Zoe said going downstairs and out the door. Her mother at least knew how to redirect it.

Asami was relieved her daughter took her own safety into consideration more often than she and Korra had when they were kids. Asami had been a highly intelligent child, and Korra had been pretty sharp too, but Zoe usually behaved more rationally than both of them combined had. "Sure, let's go see how Mom is doing. I think she said she was working primarily on Earthbending tonight."

The difference between her and Korra ca’e to safety and reckless decision making. Very rarely would she risk herself for no reason, as she only did it for people in trouble. She had saved people from fires as she could bend through them and there was a reason. She did not run headfirst into things like some people did. “Mom,” She called out. “I want to practice lightning,” She said. “You just say there in case I lose control,” She said.

"Okay, dear, but make sure you give your mom time to get into position to redirect it. I know Mako's lectured you a million times on how dangerous lightning can be, and how it has to pass through someone's body in a certain motion or it can kill them. Give Korra a minute to warm up with Firebending. She'd been doing Earthbending stances for an hour."

Zoe sighed at her mother for being such a worrywart. “I’m barely generating it mom. I’m just getting a spark. I know my own power calm down,” Zoe said. Zoe was very methodical always, so there was nothing to worry about.
Korra gave her wife a small laugh. “She’s not me, she won’t make things explode. She’s more methodical than my mother about everything,” Korra said.
