Lily's eyes widened hearing that statement and turned to her sobbing mother as she processed the facts of today, her mother had gotten fired, gotten friends over and tried to party her problems away, resulting in the wrecked house and her life and own career prospects in ruins.

She clenched her fists, "I see, so that's what happened," she said in a low tone, her mother always had been an immature grown child, she should have taken her in hand years ago, but now looking at her she felt a pan of sadness run through her, she may have just trashed her whole life but she was still her mother.

kneeling down she wrapped her arms around the grown woman and hugged her, "shhhhhhh, mom it's okay, shhh, it's not all bad, we'll get through this I promise" she said gently as she hugged her, "it will be hard but I promise you we will."

She was surprised when she felt her daughter hug her and whisper comforting words to her. She leaned into the embrace her eyes were still watering “I-i Love you sweetheart...” she said as she felt her embrace tighten around her daughter as she sniffled softly

lily smiled hearing that, "I know, I love you to, which is why I know we are going to get through this" she said before leaning out of the hug, "but things are going to have to change around her, the way this house is run," she said before sighing under her breath, "I should have done this years ago, it would have never gotten this bad" before looking back to her mother her eyes stern, "I am in charge now, because of the absolute mess that you've made of things its clear I can't leave things up to you anymore," she said before pointing towards her mothers room, "go to your room I'll be up in a minute I need to check on a few things and make some calls" she told her sternly.

She gasped at the sudden change in her daughters attitude she gave a slight blush “b-but I’m your momma not the other way around!” She defended as it appeared she wasn’t gonna do as she was told without a fight she slowly stood back up

Lily's eyes narrowed, "really? Because for the past four years at the very least I have been the one paying over half the bills in this house, I even recall on three different occasions that I've had to bail out out with the bank when things got to the point when they were going to reposes the house when the rates weren't paid on time" she said as she said with a venom in her tone.

"and lets not forget your latest mess," she said as she gestured all around them, "the results of which are all around us, my free room the contents of which I paid for, over twenty thousand pounds of imported paints and canvas, destroyed, my Violet nothing by kindling now," she said before pointing to the totaled remains of her laptop, "my mac book, where all my college essays and digital work is stored, looks to be unsalvageable, and why is all this like this?" she asked in a sarcastic way

"because the woman claiming to be my mother, the so called adult of this house, lose both her jobs and decided to get drunk and trash the house and while she was at it did her darnedest to wreck every hope her daughter has of having a successful future! Is that the mother you are claiming to be!" she all but snarled out her eyes blazing with anger as she looked at her mother.

Her eyes widened as tears filled them listening to her rant she finally decided to stop arguing as the tears left her eyes she ran off down the hall sobbing into her bedroom she slammed the door and locked it beginning to cry even louder into her her hands as she laid on her bed feeling even worse “everything I touch gets ruined!” She cried out loudly

Lily shook her head she knew she might have been to hard on her mother, but heaven help her she needed it, the woman needed taking in hand and lily would be the one to do it, but for now she would take some time to make some calls she needed to see if she could get her career back on track, for now she would arrange things before dealing with her mother.

twenty minutes, and a number of phone calls later, Lily had a number of things organized, she had called a clean up crew who would be coming by to begin cleaning up the house, mainly the living room, kitchen and bathroom, she would sort her rooms out herself.

she had called the insurance company and filed the claim on her violin there was no problems there and she would be able to collect the payment on the violin in the next three days and get herself a replacement.

she had called a near by apple store and arranged an appointment for her to come in and see if they could salvage her data, her mac book was insured as well so she could easily have it replaced and her programs restored, but she had called her professors and asked for a weeks extension on all assignments just to be safe.

she had also telephone ordered to have their fridge and cupboards restocked from their local supermarket, she normally ordered online so they had a list of the usual things, it was a good thing Lily had a small stockpile of cash from her jobs in order to pay for all this or they would have been in trouble.

she was leaving going through her rooms until after she had dealt with her mother and that was why she was now standing outside of her mothers bedroom door with a wooden backed hairbrush in hand. with another breath to calm herself she knocked on the door.

"Young lady, open this door," she said sternly, if she was going to be in charge she couldn't refer to her mother at that any more, she was the adult here.

She had no knowledge of all the trouble lily had gone through as she spent the whole time, which felt like an eternity to her small immature mind, sobbing openly on her bed until she heard the instructions.


“No. I suck just leave me alone!” She called back as the waterworks continued to freely flow down her cheeks. The fact that lily was going to punish her had yet to cross her mind she was to angry and sad with herself to think about that now.

Lily's eyes narrowed further, "Young lady!" Lilly snapped not in the mood to put up with her mother's childish and petty attitude, "You will open this door right now or so help me you will regret it" she said doing her best not to force the door, she had no doubt she would be able to, all the time she had put in at the gym and in the local pool had left her fit, and though it would take a couple tries she knew she would be able to break down the door, though she would rather not have to pay the repair man to fix the door after the fact.

She whimpered but relented and slowly approaching the door with sniffle she unlocked the door and opened it looking down at her feet feeling very embarrassed in her behavior knowing what will happen to her she blushed and sniffed more
