No longer alone (for Hrtofdrkns)

Tim frowned. He hadn't even been naughty around her in his opinion what would her mate think about his behavior. He followed along though since he obviously had nothing else he cold do even if she hadn't been holding his hand. In fact he had to move pretty quickly even to keep up. It was disconcerting to have to move his short legs so fast to cover ground.

"Is he Felician, too?" Tim asked. Almost everyone he'd seen here had been Felician, but his education had included nothing about alien or even human mating habits. He only guessed the word meant the same thing as husband. Then he had another thought. "Do you have any children? I mean -- not me -- other kids?"

"Yes he is." Tyreea told him. "And yes I do. I have three children, two females and one male. But they are grown up now, with kittens of their own."

"They have pet kittens?" Tim asked. They he realized her statement implied she had kittens too. He'd never lived with any pets or any animals actually. "How big are they?" he asked. He wasn't sure if he should be worried or not.

She looked at him with a bemused look and he thought for a moment. "Oh! You mean children. You're children are old enough to have children. That means you're a .. a.. " it was a word he'd had no use to learn alone on the ship. " .. a greatmother. But you're so young? Aren't you?"

(Not sure if she's been rejuved or not. If not Tim's just not very good at estimating Felician ages is all.)

"I am a gandmother yes." Tyreea told him as they arrived at her ship. She carried him inside and sat him in his seat, buckling him in. She chuckled a little. "And actually...I was rejuved once before, along with my mate. That's why I look so young."

"I can do that." Tim said when she started to buckle him in. The one place he felt particularly competent was on a spaceship even if this one was quite a bit different from his. But the woman continued to buckle him in and he didn't fight it.

He watched her take off and watched the ground fall away. He wasn't used to that since Ben had avoided landing as much as possible. Mostly they'd visited the upper reaches of the gas giant and the view was not at all the same in the swirling mists.

Then something struck him. "If you got rejuved, then you got spanked all the time, too. You know how much it hurts."

"Oh no sweetie, I was a Volunteras." Tyreea explained. "That means I chose to be rejuvinated. You are a soft-time penitatas, that means you were rejuvinated for being bad."

She reached over and rubbed his back with one hand. "But yes, I was spanked while growing up, both times."

It made Tim feel a little better that she'd been spanked. But he couldn't imagine why anyone would want to be made younger. Of course he hadn't yet reached the age 16 let alone had any age infirmities so he didn't know what old age could do to one. Also he'd never been with people much so he didn't know how not to say what he thought to spare feelings. "You made your self younger? On purpose? Why? That's stupid." He was quite sure of his opinion and didn't even consider how insulting he might sound.

"Tim, it's not nice to call someone stupid." Tyreaa told him. "I was a very old woman, it was my choice." she said.

Since he was a soft-time penny, Tyreea wasn't spanking him right away. He'd get one warning before getting his bottom tanned again.

"I didn't say you were stupid. I said that decision was." Tim said explaining the logical difference to his new mother. I don't like being little. It's a lot better to be old. People don't boss you around.

"Mabey, but you see I was so old I would have likely died soon." Tyreea explained to him. "I did not want to die, so I chose to become a child again."
