The Lost little demon (for Frame_J)

It was raining and most people were either inside or were heading home as evening was approaching. A few mice hid away from the rain and a small figured followed them to hide away as well, heading down an alleyway as they did. The figure had on a tattered brown cloak that hid their features. When they took off the hood of their cloak they were revealed to be a child no older than 10. They had black hair that was a little unruly, bright red eyes, black tiny horns protruding from the top of their hand, and a rather cute face that was extremely delicate looking.

The child also had no shoes or socks on and appeared to have no shirt on, though it was hard to tell with the cloak. A black forked tail moved around behind them and they were a lot smaller than their age suggested. The boy shivered as he tried to keep the cloak around him and out of sight of any humans that happened to come by.

Nearby, a man was also heading home under the cover of a black umbrella. Mr. Maxwell Webber was a grown man who was born in a lower class family, but managed to rise above the circumstances and now had his own, succesful company, but one wouldn't guess that since he still lived in a fairly humble style. He looked like a strict and serious guy, dressed sharply, which disguised the otherwise pretty soft and generous person he was. He was still single, since it seemed that most people were going after his money and status.


That day he had decided to walk to work, which turned out to have been a mistake with the sudden rain. He was lucky that he always kept a spare umbrella at the office... that is until a sudden gust of wind took it out of his hand. He chased after it until it landed near a hooded figure. When he went to pick it up, he noticed there was someone there. And looked pretty small.

"Whoa, are you okay?" he asked "You must be cold like that"

The boy blinked as a umbrella fell down next to him. He then backed away as the man greeted him. “G-Go away,” he replied in a somewhat Italian accent.

The man looked surpised when the person spoke: it was obvious this was a young boy. "Well, I just can't leave you here. Why are you here under the rain? Where are your parents?"

“Yes y-you can, the other humans have,” he replied with a shiver before sniffling. “I don’t have any parents.”

"Other... humans?" he said, raising an eyebrow "Well, I don't know about that, but I just can't leave a child alone. Specially one without parents" he knelt down and offered him a hand. "Come with me, you'll catch your death of cold like this"

He didn’t answer the first question and looked up hesitantly at the hand in front of him. He reached out for it, shivering as his hood was blown off of his hand to reveal both his red skin and horns.

Maxwell, of course, seemed pretty susprised at first, but made sure he kept his composture. "Hold tight to that, we still have to walk a bit to get to cover" he said, making sure the umbrella was covering the boy.

“O-Oh okay,” he said as he held on to him and hid under the umbrella. He didn’t know why the man didn’t shout at him, but he figured he could somewhat trust him because of that. Besides, he could always run away if something bad happened.

Maxwell had a lot of questions about what he saw, but he figured that the boy needed to feel safe so he wouldn't get upset about it. After some walking, the man made it to what seemed to be a nice suburban two-story house. He opened the door and let the boy inside.


"Okay, let me get you a towel, I'll be right back" said the man before heading to a nearby bathroom. The house was warm and cozy, though it did have an air of solitude to it.
