With nothing else to do she waited on Olivia.

While Aria waited Olivia began collecting a few things that would help with the lesson. These things were a book, a few vials of green liquid, and a wand. She took them with her as she made her way to the girl and summoned a pair of boots, handing them over to Aria. They were similar to the ones that she wouldn’t give up and could actually fit her. “There you are, wouldn’t want you stepping on anything out here.”

Aria waited, while she did she looked up at the trees and the birds singing. She usually didn't see or hear these things as she mostly stayed in town. The sun was just starting to warm the air and it felt good on her skin. So it was that when Olivia finally did come out side Aria was looking up with her eyes closed and a faint smile on her face. When the mage stepped on a small twig it caught the girls attention and she looked over just in time to catch the boots that dropped out of the air. She quickly put them on and gave them a test moving a bit and jumping up and down.

Olivia smiled as she saw the girl standing there and almost didn’t want to interrupt but knew they had a lesson to get through. While Aria rested the boots, Olivia put down the vials beside the house while using magic to levitate the book she had. She walked over to Aria and handed over the wand she had brought. “Aria, sweetheart, if you’re done jumping then please take this,” she said gently.

Aria took the wand and looked it over. "What's this for," she asked. But just then she saw a small bit of her own magical field sucked right into the wand. She almost dropped it as it startled her. She looked up at Olivia and asked, "what was that? It took some of my magic from me..." The girl had never used a wand before, she had never really needed to.

“It’s to-“. Before she could get out the rest of her words the girl gave a startled sounding squeak and looked back at Olivia. “No need to worry about that dear, it can’t help you perform magic unless it does,” she answered. “The wand is made to help direct your magic better, that and it is known to be quite useful for those with natural magic like you. It can help keep those side effects from hurting you too much.”

Aria just gave a little nod, she returned her attention to the wand. with a little effort she seemed to be able to control the flow of magic into and through the wand. After a few moments she could fill and empty it at will. She looked up at Olivia with a slight toothy smile not even realizing how hard that was to do normally. It usually took a new mage at least a week to become so in tuned with a wand. Sometimes longer to fully control it.

Olivia watched her pupil’s progress and she was honestly amazed at the results. Sure the girl was gifted with natural magic but she didn’t expect her to be that gifted. In fact, most people like her often struggled with the wand as it technically went against what they could do. As she saw the grin she smiled like a proud mother and went over to give her a gentle pat on the head. “Excellent work Aria, seems you’re better than even I was at this,” she stated. “I didn’t expect that we’d be able to move on to the first use of the wand so quickly.”
