Ryoma has been in this forest for 3 years, he thought this would be just like every other day until he heard the sound of female voices he went to take a look and see who they are.

Passing through the forest was Eliaria Jamil, her mother, and a legion of soldiers that were safely escorting them. The daughter and her mother were there for Eliaria to tame her first ever monster. After much deliberation, Elise had convinced her daughter that it was best to start small. And there was nothing smaller or weaker than slimes. Thus they had come to a forest that was known for slime sightings.

Surprisingly, despite the uptick of monster sightings in nearly every other location, the forest had very few of them. The soldiers hadn't need to intervene at all. Elise thought this was quite strange, and it put her on edge. Her experience told her that there might be a more dangerous monster lurking in the area, one that was hunting or scaring off any monsters from coming close.

"I haven't seen a single slime," Eliaria said, discouraged. She was frowning.

Elise rubbed her daughter's shoulder. "Sometimes it takes awhile to find the monsters you're looking for me. Let's take a break for lunch and look more afterwards, okay?"

"Okay..."

The two began walking back to their campsite.

Ryoma sees the girls as they were going to what seemed like a camp but he accidentally steps on a branch which breaks and alerts the two to his presence

Elise's ears twitched at the sound. She spun on her heels in the direction of the sound, fully prepared to attack if it was a monster or bandit that escaped the soldiers' perimeters. Elise paused at the sight of a young child who couldn't be any older than Eliaria, who stood behind her.

"A child?" Despite the child's age, Elise was still a bit cautious. There were many races that were older than their faces suggested. She did not want to fall for a trap and risk Eliaria's safety. "Hello there, child. What are you doing out here in this forest?"

From behind Elise's leg, her daughter peeked at the boy her age, eyes glimmering with wonder and curiosity.

Ryoma wasn't quite sure how to respond as he hasn't talked with anyone in 3 years "I uh I was hunting" he says

Hunting? In this dangerous forest? Elize scanned the surrounding area, even quietly casting Search. But she didn’t see any adults or anyone that might have been this child’s guardian. “I see. But where are your parents? It’s dangerous to be in the forest all by yourself.” Especially at his age, Elize added silently. She didn’t mention that part though since some children could be indignant over their age.

"I used to live with my grandparents but they passed away 3 years ago. they said to go to another village but I afraid they hate I outsider." Ryoma responded while looking down with a slight frown
