Camilla's face reddened. "Would you stop? I really can't think of anything. Except..." She considered it for a moment. "It's not as riveting or detailed as your tale, but there was an instance when I was about twelve when my mother got very angry with me. You recall my father was a smith-merchant, right? Once he traveled to the Imperial City to discuss selling his armor to an influential buyer. He'd recently given Lucan a dagger for his birthday, and I decided it was unfair that my younger brother would have one when I didn't. I went to his forge to craft my own. With no training or knowledge of how, mind you. As you might imagine, it started a fire. No one was hurt, but a few training dummies did go up in flames. That was the worst tanning I can recall getting from my mother."

"I can't say I'm stunned, honestly," Eir admitted, laughing. "I can't help but wonder if that explains why you always carry a dagger on your person now?"

"Perhaps. Though I think it also deters potential shoplifters. Not to mention it never hurts to have a little extra protection around, aye?" With the massage over, she got off of Eir's lap. "So... what now? This was an odd way for us to begin our life together, but I enjoyed it. Maybe sometime..... you'll let me do the same to you?"

"Maybe. If you ask very, very nicely, that is. Now, I believe I promised you I'd take care of your... situation?"

[Little Demon]

Camilla's face heated. "Must you word it like that? So unromantic. Oh, never mind. Get that armor off and teach me not to underestimate a Nord."

"With pleasure, milady. Ah... on second thought, can't I keep the armor on for just a bit longer? I was getting into the role...."

Two months later, Camilla stood at the balcony of their home, Proudspire Manor, drumming her fingers against the railing. Winter was in full swing, and she was freezing standing outside, even in the thick horker skin and goose down parka her wife had brought her from Skaal Village. With the war over, Eir no longer had to travel as often, but that didn't mean she never did. For the past two weeks, she'd been stationed in Whiterun Hold, training new recruits. She was due to return around noon, and while it was a little before that, Camilla was eager to see her, so she waited.

Around noon, Eir came into view, a fur cloak protecting her face from the falling snow. She traveled on foot, as horses had been banned from the city center (something she'd complained endlessly about.) On her back was a thick muslin sack, containing things she'd brought back from Whiterun. She entered the house after fumbling with the key for a long moment, eventually making her way inside and depositing the bag on the ground with a thud.

Camilla shed her coat in the hallway and rushed down to greet Eir. The Legionnaire barely had time to realize someone else was in the room with her before Camilla flew into her arms. "Welcome back, my love. I missed you."

"Ho there, Camilla." Eir was surprised by the tackle, but not unhappy with it. She lifted the shopkeeper off her feet a little before kissing her. "It's good to see you. How were things while I was gone?"
