She took a little from each dish, sure to give herself extra vegetables because her insides were screaming for them after surviving off of game meat for weeks. When they were situated at the table, she dug in. It was surprisingly good. "Did you take a cooking class while I was gone? It tastes great. And this one isn't bad, either." Her fork was in the pasta.

Eir's brow furrowed. "Lorkhan? Who's that?" She thought for a moment, then remembered that Shor had a different name in the provinces south of Skyrim. Just like Talos of Atmora had been called Tiber Septim in Cyrodiil. "Oh right, Shor. But why were you praying to him? I pray to Shor. He's a soldier's god."

(Good job calling Shor by his non-Nord name, BTW. Not many people would have caught that.)

"I always pray to Lorkhan when you're gone. To see you home safely." Camilla took a sip of Nordic mead, then recoiled slightly. It wasn't that it was bad, she just wasn't used to the taste yet. For now, she'd take Cyrodiilic wine any day. "Now. What interesting things did you see? I want to hear."

Yes, the majority were Nords and Imperials, but there were a few elves this time. Bosmer, mostly. Probably hate the Thalmor enough to pick up a blade in the Empire's name."

Eir grimaced and cursed her blunder. As an officer in the military, she was privy to information the average soldier or civilian wasn't. Given what she'd seen, and the fact that she knew the Dominion had had an interest in Skyrim's civil war, she did think another war with the Thalmor was possible, if not likely. "Well... I don't know for sure. I pray to the Nine we don't, but you never know with the Dominion. Hopefully the war with the Stormcloaks showed them the Empire isn't backing down, and they'll reconsider. And maybe their war with Hammerfell taught them a thing or two about messing with humans. At any rate, it's not going to happen right away. Decades from now, maybe."

"I hope not. I don't think I could bear another war. Especially not if you went out to fight again." They finished their lunch and moved to the living room, where Camilla curled up in Eir's arms in front of the fire. She could stay like this forever.
