McAllen's Little Kitten (for Chibi-chan)

Given how talkative the kitten could be during meals, Alistair took a brief moment to enjoy the silence, continuing to eat the pasta he'd made until both his bowl and the nekos were empty. "Okay Riley" he said, collecting both their bowls together and carrying them over to the sink, "you've got a bit of time before you need to be in bed, why don't you go play with your toys or something".

Riley smiled and nodded. "Alright." She said and headed to her room to play with her toys for a while.

After Riley had scampered out of the kitchen to go play in her room, Alistair took a moment to mull over the days events. Despite his determination to get the neko to face her fears when it came to kindergarten, he was beginning to worry that perhaps he'd been pushing the child into something that she may not have been entirely ready for. It was clear that the girl had some difficulty interacting with others, though she had been willing to talk to people in the pub after a little coaxing. Spending another hour or so thinking about what to do, Alistair finally decided upon an arrangement that he hoped would be beneficial for the little cat girl.

After the next couple of days with Riley's paperwork being approved, it was the first day of going to school. Riley was still asleep not wanting to get up yet. She was no where near ready.

After a moment, the neko turned over in her bed rubbing her eyes before sitting up. She climbed out of bed making her way to the bathroom to use the toilet before moving slowly to the kitchen still half asleep.

"D-Daddy?" She called out quietly.

Alistair was stood in front of the stove when he heard the kittens little voice call out behind him, turning away from the pancakes he was in the process of preparing to look at Riley as she walked somewhat wearily into the kitchen. "Morning" he said, waiting for the girl to walk over to him before reaching down to give her hair an affectionate tussle, "I thought I'd make us some pancakes for breakfast, seeing how this is your first day at kindergarten and all".

“Mornin’...” Riley rubbed her eyes before making her way to the table to sit down. “Pancakes sound good.” She replied before laying her head down in between her arms to rest almost like she was going to fall asleep again. “Can you cut them up for me?” She asked.

Nodding in response to the childs question, Alistair transferred four small pancakes out of the frying pan and onto a plate he'd set on the top beside the stove. After retrieving a knife and fork from a nearby drawer, he set about cutting them up into bite-sized portions, before bringing the plate over to where Riley was sitting and setting it down in front of her. "There" he said, walking back over to the kitchen top to make himself some coffee, "it's been a while since I used Mum's old recipe, but they should still taste okay".

The little girl's nose wiggled while she sniffed the air smelling the sweet pancakes before they were served in front of her. "Thanks." She said picking up her fork to start eating. Eventually, the syrup would drip all over her as she ate piece by piece kind of making a mess. She did her best to wipe up, but left everything including herself sticky.

Once he'd made his coffee, Alistair looked over his shoulder to see the little cat girl proceeding to inadvertently cover both herself and the kitchen table in the maple syrup from her pancakes. "Riley for goodness sake" Alistair said in an exasperated tone, tearing off a few pieces of kitchen roll before making his way over to the neko and proceeding to wiper her face and hands, "could you try and at least get some of your breakfast into your mouth".

"Sorry, Daddy, it's all just so good!" She replied getting wiped down. "Lemme do that, I can do it!" She told him getting a little irritated and tried to do it herself.
