The Mentor's Mom (for Jaden Yucky)

[Renton]

Garrett hugged his mom back. "I'm really sorry, mom," he said, uttering a phrase he had used so many times in years past after earning a red butt. Hoping he was now in the clear, he pulled up his pants and followed his mom into the kitchen, rubbing his sore butt.

[Terra]

Alana nodded and served out the food before sitting down to eat. She started eating and watched him, seeing how he'd sit down.

[Renton]

Garrett took his plate and sat down at the table, wincing noticeably as he did. "Geez," he said. "You haven't forgotten how to work the wooden spoon."

He settled in, deciding not to ask for a pillow to sit. He'd earned his sore butt, and trouble sitting came with the territory. "Mom, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for letting you down," he said. "If you'd like... I can check in with you regularly, so you can see if my grades are up to par. What you do with that info is up to you," he said. As it was, Garrett thought that is his mom was going to spank him again, it was in his best interest to be upfront with his academics. It would help him in the long run, even if it meant a few more sore bottoms in the short run as he worked on getting his grades up.

[Terra]

Alana was quiet as she ate, but looked up as her son spoke, She nodded at his suggestion, swallowing some of her food. "Sounds like a good idea to me." She said after thinking about it a moment. Alana didn't mind warming his bottom if he needed it, but if it was for a punishment.. well.. she wasn't particularly happy having to punish him, but knew it needed done at times.

[Renton]

Garrett was surprised that he felt... better about this arrangement. He knew that he was terrible at self motivation, and having his mom's firm hand at the ready would be a good motivation to improve. "All right," he said, nodding. "I think... I think I'm going to do better this semester," he said.

He then remembered suddenly that he was supposed to meet his friend's sister for a mentorship meeting today. "Mom, can I head out for my meeting?" he said as he quickly finished his dinner.

"That's good." Alana replied between bites. She hoped she wouldn't have to "motivate" him too much.

At his question to head out for his meeting, Alana nodded a bit and finished eating at her pace. "Go ahead. Just be quiet if you return late." She said. She then stood at took the dishes and began to wash them.

[Renton]

Garrett nodded and was glad not to have a curfew tonight, lest he have something else to worry about with an already sore bottom. He stood up and went out to his car and took off to his buddy's house. He knew the sister quite well, and she was practically a sister to him. He realized it was ironic that he was going from getting a spanking to mentoring someone else, but he felt that maybe he could learn some valuable lessons from his mother's techniques.

Kari was laying on the couch, watching TV. She wasn't doing too well in school, but she didn't mind too much as she was still passing. Kari had done her homework, but didn't bother to check her work much.

[Renton]

Garrett pulled up in front of Kari's house and went up and knocked on the door. He had arranged to check up on her regularly after her brother was called in for military service. He felt bad for her, living here all alone, but he was glad to be able to do this for her (and for her brother, who who knew kept Kari in line with a butt warming now and again).

"Hey there, Kari!" he said, hugging her as he greeted her at the door. "How have you been?"

[Terra]

Kari returned the hug, sighing a bit. "Decent." She said, moving her medium-length black hair as she broke from the hug. She rubbed her eyes, being half-asleep when Garrett had arrived. The teen stretched and retrieved a bottle of water that she offered to her mentor.
