"Aaaaaaaaah!"
A higher-pitch cry of battle broke out right behind the trio - specifically, right behind Tix. A young grey wolf, maybe in his mid-teens, and even then not the strongest of build, was charging right for him, a broken-off branch in his hands serving as a makeshift club. The cub squeezed his eyes tight and swung, missing widely and completely losing his orientation, dizzily trying to find where his target had gone when he'd missed, looking around, confused.
It was hard to tell what the deal was: probably a kid from the villiage currently under attack, who'd just started looking for a way to blow off steam. Looked like he'd picked the wrong group, if not simply the wrong guy, to start a fight with. There were tear-streaks running down his cheeks, and his jaw was clenched so tight it looked like he might swallow his own tongue, as he furiously tried to rebalance himself and attack again.

Frowning, Tix dodged another slash from the club and grabbed the little wolf by the scruff of the neck. "What is this?" he asked.
The female fox frowned. "Looks like... a child from the village." She picked up a staff and waved it in front of the boy. "Well? What did you think you were doing, attacking us like that?"

"Get off Jean! Graverobbers! Bastards! Per'naagai!" The younger wolf spat, angrily, revealing himself to most certainly be a native to this place - he both spoke the Fengi tongue, the native language of the people of this area, and spoke their own with a strong accent, somewhat nasal and somewhat lilting, with a few trilling letters keeping his voice flowing constantly, even when speaking the language these people would understand.
He twisted sharply, trying to kick the fox between the legs so he could reach for his stick - he wasn't going to let them disfigure 'Jean', which was apparently the name of the dead man before them, and he didn't appear to care what happened to him as a result.

FRowning, the wolf walked over to him. He cleared his throat and spoke in the Fengi tongue. He was a multi lingual person in the group. Neither of the other two could understand what he was saying. "Child, calm yourself. I am Golk. Now, answer me slowly, what are you doing here, so close to combat, and why did you attack us, a simple band of mercenaries."

"Go to hell!" the boy responded in Fengi. "Jean's already dead, he didn't do anything to you! Don't touch him!" He struggled futilely against the strong grasp Tix had him in, and lowered his head shamefully for a moment, trying to recover before glaring back up at Golk. "You attacked us! You're all bastards! Die and rot, each one of you! --and you first!" he added, spitting at Golk's feet.
(((different color like this for Fengi?)))

Golk frowned. "Well, you're in a pleasant mood, aren't you?" he asked. "Well, what are you accusing us of? We were charged with collecting what was left after the battle from both sides and delivering them to our employer."

The boy gave an angry shriek and turned, trying to attack Tix again, instead. "Leave us alone! You've already done enough! Just- just go...."
He twisted and struggled, but the more he realized he was trapped by Tix, the weaker that struggling got. He looked up at Golk one last time, really showing his age, the look of a boy desperate for something from someone older and stronger. "You don't need to let me see it... Please... please just leave us alone..." The boy went semi-limp, now, letting himself be restrained, head bowed and neck offered in submission. "Just-- just kill me too..." he muttered, swaying between another outburst and simply shutting down and running off.

Tix frowned. "Well, you heard the kid." He motioned to the femme fox. "Kill him, and dump his body down there with the others. The battle's over anyway."
The fox frowned. "But he's only a boy!"
"But he's also from the village."
Golk looked at the boy and snorted. "Let's let him go, Tix. He's just a brat. Nothing he can do about us anyway."
Tix snorted. "Fine then." He motioned to the battlefield and grabbed the body of the first deceased he found, which happened to be the one that the boy had been ranting about earlier. He turned the body on its back and started to pull any valuables off of it that he could.
Golk let go of the boy, but gave him a slap on the cheek and grunted. "This is your one warning boy... don't toy with us, or you'll join everyone else down there. Now get out of here."

The boy touched his face gently, eyebrows narrowing. A growl began to rise in his throat, and he couldn't stop himself from charging Tix, eyes bright with anger. It was easy to be angry with the fox: he was the one who wanted to kill him. Well fine. Just fine!
"Get off of Jean!" he shouted. "Get off my cousin! I'll kill you!"
