A Mischievous Fantasy (For Broken Saint)

It was a bleak, cloudy morning. Shallow blood curdling screams of beasts echoed through out the forests, the only sounds to be heard for miles.

The sound of slashing hidden underneath the screams, and then the sounds of a beautiful flute playing.

A young blonde woman was soon taking her dagger out the corpse of a beast she had just slain, for putting it to sleep and then stabbing it in the back of the neck.

She took a deep breath and smirked. "That's the last one..." she spoke as three of the same creatures laid before her and her partner. This girl's name was Naomi.

And standing on top of one of the slain creatures is pale skinned woman with red eyes and long blue hair, which reaches down to the top of her bottom. Her name is Ra Lena and she, before meeting Naomi, was a traveller from a distant land who seeks the thrill of discovery and treasure. Well now she she does does but at least she has a friend to share said goals with.

"That's a relief. I could hardly hear your flute over their loudness," Ra said with a smile as she steps off the corpse while checking on her weapon...which could be accurately described as a paddle. A very unusual choice of weaponry but according to her it is a very common item among her people.

Naomi sheathed her blade back in the holster strapped to her waist. Grinning at Ra's statement for that was a compliment to her. She had been working hard, not only to improve her skill in combat, but just in general as she was a musician in her mind. "Well, now, we have little background to disturb me..." she commented back as she took a seat back in front of the campsite they were using.

Monsters were becoming more frequent in appearance nowadays. It will come to the point where the two of them will struggle to handle such beasts, so they were on the search for willing warriors who would join them. They knew of a town that was a few kilometers away from their position, and that's where there search would start.

Ra Lena did intend on complimenting her friend's musical talents with her comment, since Naomi tremendously talented with her music. If anything she would never get tired of listening to musician play at all. Unlike Naomi the blue haired Selkie never really had much of a single talent. Sure she can understand what animals, like cats and dogs, are saying but that is common among her people. So as an individual she may not be exactly talented at anything outside of the amazing athletics her people are gifted with.

Not that she'd ever let that bother her as she giggled when Naomi made her return comment about having a disturbing little background. "I'm sure me and my paddle can sweep them away from the camp," she answered back while swinging her paddle about a couple of times to make sure her arm hasn't gone stiff.

Secretly she knew that they will eventually begin to struggle against the frequently appearing monsters, especially considering both her lack of comfort in armour and Bards not being powerful enough fighters to fight many at once. Sure the music has been helping them a lot but every time Naomi tries to play her flute the monsters would come for her, probably attracted to the music at first, which meant that the Selkie would have to fight them off by herself for a little bit. Which, even if for a little bit, is quite hard to do when it is three on one as Ra looked down on her left arm, seeing the big - but fortunately not nasty - scratch mark from one of those creatures, and began to blow on it softly.

"If you can, do so...before they start to smell...." Naomi spoke with a chuckle as she sat down on one of the logs the girls were using for raised seats. Although the blonde was not ignorant to the fact that her friend/partner was injured. So as soon as she was seated, she immediately began to play a specific song. A paean, that upon completion cast Regen upon Ra Lena. The pain and the wound itself, would begin to go away completely over a much faster rate of time, of course at the cost of Naomi's magic power.

The signs of her becoming weary were becoming more evident at this point. For she began to pant lightly upon completion of her song and she stopped playing music in general. "Ngh...I'm almost all out...." she muttered. It would be bad if she was completely drained before they entered another battle, if that were to happen then she would be almost useless. So she needed to recover, of course, Naomi wouldn't want to hinder their progress just because she was winded, it was just in her nature. Which was another reason why they needed to increase their party numbers.

"Sure," Ra started while pushing her paddle against one of the corpses once she checked them for an gil "the last thing I want is for our clothes to smell like those things. Talk about a way to make people run from us," the Selkie tried to joke while proceeding to move the corpses off to a distance where their smell wouldn't affect the current party's camp but also not far enough that Ra could lose sight of her partner Naomi. While doing this she did notice that her wound was healing much more quickly than it usually would.

"Thank you for the Regen," the Selkie started once she came back to the camp and sat down next to Naomi, pulling her into a one-handed hug as she leaves her weapon of choice on the floor in front of them. "Are you sure that was necessary though? I can clearly tell that these spells are starting to take a toll on you," the blue haired girl of extremely revealing clothing softly said to the Bard, concern of her well-being possibly quite evident in the girl's voice. "Hopefully no more monsters show up...but if any does, I'll take them on by myself and you just rest," Ra tried to sound as firm as she could with her words, even though that doesn't mean a lot in this aspect, knowing all too well that they need new party members quickly...and preferably one that can cast healing spells.

"Your welcome..." Naomi took a deep breath as she rested her flute on her lap and took the time to catch her breath. She looked up to see the Selkie sit down next her and pull her into a one handed hug. The blonde didn't mind it at all, and she rested her head on Ra's shoulder tiredly.

Then when the girl began to question her methods, Naomi became a little more lively to respond and smiled. "Don't worry...all I need a little bit of time to catch my breath...then we can pack up and keep moving, we should make it to the next town before sundown." she spoke. She could hear that Ra Lena was concerned just by her tone inflection, and while she appreciated it, she honestly felt as though it was unwarranted for this situation.

Although Naomi became much more attentive when the Selkie offered to take on the next set of monsters should they come across more and allow her to arrest. The blonde narrowed her tired eyes and retorted. "Don't be ridiculous Ra...I'm not just gonna wait on stand by while you take on a horde." she said seriously, although in her current state, she was unsure of how much help she could provide with her weakening magic. It was tough for her to handle slues of random encounters, especially when they were running low on Ether.

Of course the 'your welcome' was answered with a sharp-tooth smile and, if anything, Ra Lena found herself to be smiling even more when the blonde rested her head on her shoulder. Having known the Bard decently well, as well as having her as her only friend since arriving in this new land, Ra instantly expected Naomi to react quite lively when having her methods question, the smile she gave warming the scantily-clad girl up a lot as she listened to her speak of how she only needs 'a little bit of time to catch my breath' before they 'can pack up and keep moving' towards town.

The narrowing of the eyes was more than enough to tell the curvaceous woman that her suggestion wasn't one that Naomi would be spectacularly happy with, especially since that wouldn't be the first time Ra has put the Bard above herself, for both better and worst. "But you have to," she replied to the blonde's words, not exactly sounding as serious as her but still trying to be serious. "I can duck and dodge them well enough but your magic is getting weaker and I don't want to risk losing you," the blue haired paddle user tried to sound serious with her words as both concern and worry is written on her face.

Naomi couldn't help but feel touched when she heard those words from her friend. But she was still upset, at herself, for having such weakness right now. At that point, in order to show that she was fine, she forced herself to sit up right and looked at Ra again, crossing her arms. "Relax Ra....I'm fine, see? In fact..." the blonde girl pushed herself to her feet. "We can pack up and get going now, the sooner we make it to the town, the sooner we can rest without worry of being ambushed and I can buy more supplies...okay...?" she asked, but she wasn't looking for approval from the Selkie. She wanted to get going now, so resting at this point was not an option.

Ra Lena was being a hundred percent honest when she said she don't want to risk losing her friend for, for better or worst, she is a completely honest person who is unable to lie. So it would be easy to expect her facial expression to show how not approving she feels about the idea of simply packing up and go. Sure there may be benefits but they've both just fought in battle and neither have had time to rest.

However Ra also knew that there was little point in object from the look on her friend's face alone as she nods lightly before standing up. "Okay," she said with a smile "but please be safe," the blue haired girl quickly added in out of concern before going off to pack their supplies, having to not only bend over to grab some but also leave her paddle on the floor so she can use both hand.
