Multiplayer Adventure (for BaldKing)

The news was shocking when she first heard it - the prestigious Captain Toadette had been toadnapped! By who, of course, but that sleazy King Koopa, Bowser. The shocking part wasn’t that Toadette was captured, though; it was that she, Princess Peach, hadn’t been! And with Luigi busy at his mansion, Mario running fundraisers for the new castle and Wario… just generally out of the question, that left one hero - or heroine! - to take up the mantle! Princess Peach herself!

Peach’s blue eyes sparkled with excitement as she peered out the window of Captain Toad’s Starshroom. The world awaiting below her was one she’d heard so much about from Mario’s tales… brick blocks suspended in mid-air, green pipes sporting fierce Piranha Plants and a flagpole at the very end. Sure, she and her army of Toad’s could march through it in a breeze, but she wanted the full hero experience! And that’s why she decided to bring along a few friends.

First, her partner in crime, Daisy, and with her, an old pal from out of this world, Princess Rosalina. Finally, a newcomer in red; straight from New Donk City, Mayor Pauline had her legs crossed as the Starshroom touched down for the landing - being that she was the only one not wearing a dress and could do so. “Okay, girls!” Peach chipperly announced as she turned away from the window, fists excitedly balled up. “Who’s ready to be a hero!”

"Wow, it's been so long since us four had the chance to get together!" Daisy first said in a excited voice. "Yeah, so what crazy adventures are we going to do this time?" Rosalina then asked. "Hope not too crazy, I still have work to do back in my office." Pauline said, "So, what is it?"

Peach took the first few steps forward, into the open air, letting the sunlight glisten down on her as she peered toward the adventure lying ahead of her; beginning with a few simple, airborne blocks, the path went off into the distance, green pipes and floating bricks as far as the eye could see. "Our goal is simple, ladies - we must reach that flagpole!"

Pauline, meanwhile, looked over her shoulder, seeing for herself the arduous journey ahead of her... with a bit more pessimism to her then Peach. "That's an awful long way, isn't it? Shouldn't we take the Starshroom-" "No!" Peach shook her head. "This is how Mario does it, so it is how we shall do it as well. Are you girls ready?" She asked.

Pauline paused. "...I suppose?"

Daisy was a little hesitated, this was the first time she actually going on an adventure, without any heroes or guards beside her. However, seeing her best sister Peach getting this hyped up and excited, she decided to follow her. “No problem! I’m definitely ready! It’s time to show the world, even girls could go through all the challenges!” She said as she stepped next to Peach.

“Great!” Peach clapped her hands cheerily, taking the first step forward proudly - before their party was joined by the first enemy!

A Goomba. A little, brown, mushroom-shaped critter with two fangs, no taller than their high-heels as he waddled forth on two feet. “EEP!” Peach gasped as she stepped back and shoved Daisy to the front. “Daisy! Make it go away!”

Pauline, watching the whole thing from the back, sighed and put her hand to her face.

In fact, Daisy didn't know what to do either, but she didn't want to act weak. "It's a Goomba, nothing too serious." she said to the others as she lifted her right leg and gave the monster a kick!
"I'm not sure if I should kick it or step on it though... What do Mario and Luigi usually do?"

The lone kick sent the waddling Gooma over onto it’s back, but didn’t quite squash it, leaving the fanged critter squirming on the ground as it fought to roll back up. “No, no! That’s not right! You’re supposed to jump on it.” Peach scoffed. Rather rudely, she was brushed aside, Pauline stepping forward and picking the Goomba right up off the ground. “Why do we need to hurt it, exactly?” She asked, not paying any mind to the Goomba’s squirming in her arms. “Let’s set it aside and move on.”

As she moved forward to put the Goomba behind them, Peach squealing quietly and pacing a circle around Daisy, the creature would finally rear it’s head back and sink it’s little fangs right into Pauline’s hand. “Ah!” Pauline gasped as she dropped the Goomba back down to the ground. “EEP!” Peach squealed as the creature ran amuck, even making Pauline stumble backward now as well. “Make it go away! Make it go awayyy!”

Daisy sighed again, she couldn't believe Peach. "You're the one who took us all out on an adventure, and get all hyped up. But when we face the first monster, not even a scary one, you're hiding behind everyone?" She then stepped onto the Goomba, and it disappeared. "Look! Isn't this easy?"

Pauline stood off to the side, arms stretched out by her left and right with Peach hiding so bravely behind her as the Goomba was finally put away. With that, Pauline breathed easy... but Peach wasn't so easily calmed. Especially not with Daisy being so confrontational!

"Why-! Easy? Daisy, I never said it would be easy. If it were, then anyone could be Mario!" Peach scoffed with her hands by her hips, then crossing her arms as she stepped up. "Now, don't you start any useless drama!..."

"Girls! Girls..." Pauline shook her head as she stepped in-between them. "Let's continue?"

Daisy didn't think Peach would had this much of a reaction, "Fine! I'm sorry! Let's just keep going, shall we?" Daisy said to Peach. "We're fine Pauline." She turned forward and started walking, "Humph... I'll definitely be spanking that girl's bare ass if we fight...." she thought to herself. But Peach was still the leader, so Daisy didn't want to have conflict.
