Multiplayer Adventure (for BaldKing)

"..." Peach crossed her arms, lips puffed out as she thought on it. But, no useless drama, as she said, so she nodded with a sigh. "That's better." She agreed, and Pauline sighed in relief as well. Time to get moving, then.

The journey started on it's way again, some basic platforming from all parties made extra easy by everyone's ability to float... except Pauline, who had to walk behind with her brow hanging low, but it wasn't long before trouble would begin to stir again. A large gap appeared in the ground before them, a straight drop down to who-knows-how-far.

"Oph! Hold up, girls!" Peach stuck out her hand, causing Pauline to pause as well. "I don't know if we'll be able to make this jump. Is anyone willing to take the first try?"

Silence prevailed as Pauline looked both ways awkwardly, because there was no chance SHE was doing it. And Peach didn't seem inclined on it, either.

"I would like to give it a try." The girl who had been quiet from the beginning of the journey, Rosalina, finally talked. "I think I could make it." She backed off for a few steps and ran straight towards the gap, took off just before the edge, and landed beautifully on the other side. "Hey, there is a button here!" She stepped on it and a bridge appeared. Daisy quickly walked through the bridge and waited for the other two. "Come on!" she waved and said.

“Ah! Rosie! Go ahead.” Peach welcomed Rosalina’s attempt, and both she and Pauline gave a short round of applause when the shyer Princess easily made the jump. The bridge appearing after provided an easier right of passage… that is, unless one looked closer at what the blocks were made of.

Donut blocks, they were called, for their shape - the user who walked across them only had moments to react before they fell through. “Ooh! We’d better all go at the same t-” Peach began to explain, but Daisy was already running across - and so the bridge fell to pieces right behind her! “Daisy!” Peach gasped, her and Pauline still trapped on the other side. “Now, look what you’ve done.”

“...can’t you just float over?” Pauline asked, to which Peach rolled her eyes. “Yeees, but that’s not the point.” Taking Pauline’s hand, Peach hopped into the air and gently stalled her motion mid-jump, casually floating across while Pauline was forced to hold on tightly and dangle. The two dropped down safely on the other side.

Peach then turned, arms by her side as she got in Daisy’s face again. “You should really let me go first, you know. Pauline could’ve gotten trapped if I wasn’t there to help her!” Peach huffed. “It’s okay, Peach…” Pauline assured.

Rosalina immediately sensed there could be a possible fight happening, she tried to step forward in between Peach and Daisy, but Daisy stopped her and engaged before Rosalina could do anything. "Come on guys... stop fighting..." Rosalina said.

"Oh I can stop fighting, but it seems like there is someone that WANT this fight." Daisy's eyes got big, and she sounded furious. "And you know what, I'm perfectly fine for it! If that is what you want Peach!"

Pauline flinched at the sound of conflict, Peach doing nothing to diffuse the situation as she stepped up to Daisy and almost butted heads with her. “Daisy! I won’t have you ruining our adventure with your ‘shoot first’ attitude.” Peach scoffed. Pauline sighed as the bickering went on, searching quickly for a solution… fortunately, one presented itself by way of a green pipe lying ahead. “Peach!...”

“Yes, Pauline?!” Peach turned around, equally as frustrated with her now. “...” Pauline paused, both hands up as she slowly let them drift down. “Peach… there’s a pipe up ahead. Why don’t we split up?” She asked gently. “You and Rosalina can explore the surface, and Daisy and I will go underground. We’ll meet up at the flagpole.”

Peach’s angry face slowly began to relax as she thought about it. She turned around, looking to both Daisy and Rosalina. “...well?”

Daisy was about to talk back and start the fight she was readied for a while, Rosalina stepped in jusy in time to stop the orange dress princess from doing anything she would regret after. "I think splitting up would help the situation a lot, don't you think, Daisy?" she asked calmly.

Daisy considered the idea for a few moments, and decided it would be the best solution for hem to travel fast and without conflicts. "Okay, Pauline, let's go." The girl walked towards the green pipe and stopped at the entrance. "Come on, what are you waiting for?"

Underground… in a dress. Great, Pauline thought, but it definitely seemed better than staying together. “...coming.” She muttered, then joining Daisy by the pipe, motioning for her to go first.

“Well! That sounds like a pleasant plan.” Peach huffed, clearly hiding frustrations under her peppy demeanor. “Okay, Rosie, let’s keep moving, then!”

"C-Coming!" Rosalina followed the pink dress princess and walked forward.

Finally the four split up, Daisy and Pauline went from the underground, while Peach and Rosalina went from the surface.

"So... do you have a plan?" Rosalina asked Peach, trying to break the awkward silence.

The road ahead was much quieter - Rosalina was a far more agreeable Princess! “Can you believe that Daisy, always looking for a reason to argue?” Peach huffed, ignoring Rosalina's question as she floated daintily over the ground, approaching a goomba scrambling to-and-fro on a suspended line of bricks. A single swing of her hips knocked that goomba right off.

“Ugh!” Pauline sighed as she and Daisy both resurfaced inside the musty underground. Pauline, not able to float, dropped down to the ground and dusted herself off while waiting for Daisy to follow. “Here we go…” She sighed.

“Well.. if you think it this way, you might feel better. Daisy and you are actually kinda alike.” Rosalina said. “You’re both decisive, competitive, and smart women!” The blue princess said to the pink one as she followed her path.

“Wait for me Pauline, don’t go too quickly, there could be monsters ahead of us. Also, you seemed so quiet, is everything alright?” Daisy asked as she came after Pauline.
