Gareth knew that simply accepting an apology, no matter how sincere that apology might be, is not an effective deterrent against repeating the behavior that landed Ruari in this mess to begin with so while he was proud of the younger man for accepting that he'd done something wrong he was still going to spank him for the offense. With that thought in mind he tapped the brush against the young man's bottom before striking him in the center of his backside, listening to the yelp of pain that elicited but hardening his heart against it. He wasn't going to stop at just one swat, it didn't matter how much the boy yelped and whined, so he steeled himself and then started to pepper the younger man's backside with the brush. He didn't have a set number of swats in mind for this, he would judge when to stop based on how Ruari was reacting to the punishment and let the younger man tell him, by his body language, when he'd had enough.

Feeling another smack coming down his backside. he gripped tightly to the bed sheet, kicked his legs a little and let out another loud yelp of pain. For this was really hurting him, no wonder it was banned in some places in the world, sadly he wasn't in one of those places so this was legal. Not to mention there is no way he was going to go to a judge to tell him or her that he assaulted with a spanking. That and he admits that he did was wrong, but that doesn't make this hurt any less.

Gareth knew that his wayward client was in for a real shock with this punishment but he had the hope that because of that Ruari would learn a better lesson and they would not have to repeat this again in the future. Maybe that was another instance of wishful thinking on his part but since he wasn't enjoying this anymore than the wayward rocker that was bare bottomed over his knee right now he wanted to hang onto his delusions as long as he could. He watched as the younger male kicked and he listened as he yelped in pain but Gareth hardened his heart against all the reactions and continued to bring the brush down with a steady rhythm, almost as though he were playing a slow beat on the drums or something. That comparison gave him a moment of amusement before the grim reality set back in, Gareth watching as Ruari's bottom turned from pristine white to a dark pink, bordering on red.

The yelps got louder and the kicking got a little more harder with each swat from the evil hairbrush. Tears soon roll down Ruari's face, sniffing and whimper as his bottom became more red. This was the most painful thing he had ever went through. More painful then the time he fell down a flight of stairs when he was a kid. After some time, the kicking stopped and he laid on his lap, limped.

It would have been easy to feel like the biggest jerk in history given the way that Ruari was acting right now in response to the punishment but Gareth knew that what he was doing was the right thing and so he continued. It wasn't until the younger man was crying and had stopped struggling that he decided that he had more than likely learned his lesson over the situation. With that thought in mind he delivered two last swats to the backs of Ruari's thighs, and then sets the brush back on the nightstand where he had gotten it. Taking a moment he gently rubbed Ruari's back, making soothing circles and giving the younger man a chance to get control of himself a little bit. "Shh, it's over now and I forgive you for what happened. We're going to start things over with a clean slate and I hope that you keep to your word and start taking this more seriously," he told him, his tone gentle since he was no longer upset.

With the two final swats to his thighs, he starts to opening sob and the tears did not stop. His bottom was dark red, burning, and throbbing in pain. It was like he said on top of a fire. He never thought that a spanking would hurt this much. Now with it over, he assumed that he was going to throw him off his lap and walk away. So he was surprise that he actually starts to rub his back. Hushing him in a gentle tone.

There was no way that Gareth was willing to leave Ruari feeling miserable so after the spanking was over he spoke gently to the younger male, soothing him with quiet words and telling him that it was going to be okay and that they were going to start over. He wasn't the type to hold a grudge so now that it had been dealt with Gareth was more than willing to let bygones be bygones and go on about their business as though this hadn't happened. After a few minutes spent rubbing Ruari's back he gently eased his underwear and then his pants back into place over his bottom before helping the kid to his feet. But rather than getting up himself he instead guided his client back down into a hug, holding him close and once again starting to rub his back. "I know that hurt and that it was hard for you but I only did it because I actually give a damn and don't want to see you waste the talent that you have or throw away opportunities just because you think everyone is going to cater to you. They won't," Gareth told him, wanting Ruari to understand why it was that he'd done that.

After time he he does manages to calm himself down. Just before the other pulled up his boxers and pants back up. Boy did that ever sting. He kind of wanted to removed them and just lay on the bed on his stomach. He got onto his feet and wipes his now blood shot eyes and looks into Gareth's eyes with his sad puppy ones.

Just then he was pulled into a hug, didn't see that one coming. Being held so close and him rubbing his back. Telling him that he knew it hurts and it was hard on him, but he did it because he actually cars for him. He believes that he has the talent and didn't want to see it go to waste. He sniffled before he looks at him with a surprise look on his face. "I-I understand. I'm sorry. Really, I am." he tells him and he wraps his own arms around him.

It would have been downright cruel to punish him and then just leave Ruari to lick his wounds, so to speak, and that was not something that Gareth intended on ever doing because it was not something that would help him. So instead he spanked the younger man and then pulled him into a hug after giving him some time to get himself a little more under control. Once he was holding Ruari and rubbing his back gently he explained why it was that he'd spanked him and said that he actually cared, his blue eyes focused on the kid as he said that he understood and was really sorry. "It's alright now, I promise. That's the thing about spankings, once they're over all's forgiven and we put it behind us," Gareth told him, hoping that the kid would take this lesson to heart so that they wouldn't have to repeat it anytime in the near future, or at all preferably. "Just let me know when you feel like getting up and we'll order take out or something," he added softly, not rushing him but letting him know that he'd get something to eat when the kid wanted it.

He listens as he tells him that once a spanking has ended, the person is forgiven and they can move on. Which made him happy. It's not like he hates the guy, he just has a little fun messing with him. He sees him as the only friend he has in the business. Though he knew that he is just paid to work with him and wouldn't be anything else outside the music world, but he'll take what he can get.

While in his arms, he told him to let him know when he was okay and then they could order take out. Boy was that ever good, he is still hungry at this point, but he didn't want to pull away just yet. So he stayed where he was for another five minutes. Then he pulls away. Looking at him with a smile. "Thanks." he said happily. "Now lets eat, I am so hungry."
