It was a rainy day in Metropolis and Supergirl flew into her apartment through the window. She landed and her suit was ripped and tattered a bit as she huffed softly and sat on the couch. She also looked a mess with her hair a bit. She then using her super speed was showered and dressed in her pajames now as just Kara Danvers. She smiled as she clicked on the TV wondering where her girlfriend Lois was and hoping she didnt find out what happened today

"Wow, who put you through the wringer?" Lois asked, taking a seat next to Kara. The last two years had been strange for her. She had loved Clark deeply, but she was never completely able to shut off the strong, lingering feelings for his cousin. Over time they'd become too hard to resist, which was mutual. Clark had been sad at first, but he understood. He was back with Lana now, and as of a few months ago, they were expecting their first child.

kara then shifted a bit nervously where she sat "Eh just a rough day at work" she said chuckling a bit nervously. She then flicked on the news and noticied it was about her and quickly changed it hoping Lois didnt notice it. She then sighed "Im hungry" she said getting up and heading to the kitchen. She then came back wit ha bag of chips that was quite big and started to munch on them whiel wathcing TV

"Wait, no, go back. I think you were on the news." Lois enjoyed seeing Kara on the news in the same way she relished seeing her name in print in the newspaper. There was a big sense of pride in having your name (or image) immortalized and presented for millions of people to see. She practically lived for it. The reporter took the remote, and switched back to the news station. Images of Kara fighting Metallo flashed on the screen. Eventually Superman showed up in his lead suit, punching the robot mercenary, and allowing Kara a chance to get a hit in herself.
"So... you didn't know you were fighting Metallo, right?" Lois asked suspiciously. Typically when Metallo was sighted, Kara would wear the lead suit engineered by Star Labs to fight him. Going in without it was extremely dangerous, and had almost resulted in her death in the past.

Kara didnt look up from her hands "W-Well I mean I was fine... and I didnt die" she said reachiing into the bag to pull out some more chips the 18 year old Kryptonian mucnhing on chips slowly as she wasnt sure if Lois was going to be mad or not but how mad could she actually be right? She then placed the bag beside her. She just thought maybe Lois would go a few days without talking to her or osmething liek that like she always did when she was mad

Lois gave her girlfriend her no-nonsense look. "Kara. Did you know Metallo was attacking or not?" They'd had discussions about being careful around Kryptonite before, and she wasn't playing around with her at this juncture.

Kara then looked down and spoke softly "Y-yea I did know he was there" she said not looking her in the eyes. She then reached for the bag of chips to have some more. and stuffed some into her mouth. She often ate but more so when she was nervous. She crunched the cgips a bit loudly trying to avoid talkign to Lois

"So why did you go in without your lead suit? You know Kryptonite in large quantities is lethal to you. With how fast you can fly and move, it would have taken you all of an additional thirty seconds to get it, put it on, and go safely."

Kara then looked down at the floor "I-I just forgot" she said reaching into the bag t grab some more chips and eating them. She then looked back at the TV trying to avoid talking to Lois about this She knew it was dangerous but she survived and thats all that matters right? She continued eating the chips

"You forgot, huh?" Lois was unimpressed by that answer. "That's like a firefighter forgetting to take an oxygen tank in with him to a burning house. A very stupid, basic mistake, bound to end badly." Her eyes drifted back over to the television where images were playing of Supergirl suffering a pretty thorough defeat before Superman finally showed up. "Ugh. What am I going to do with you, kid? I'm only 30, and I've already found a few gray hairs. You and Clark aren't helping with that."
