He then printed out some info and stuffed it int othe bag he hd and slung it over his shoulder "I mean if she finds out your Batwoman whats gonna stop her from wanting to help you?" he asked narrowing his eyes at Kate "you do know that her parents were killed by Alice. That might push her into wanting to fight crime with you" he said "My parents died when I was young which made me want to help Bruce. YOu should definetely reconsider..." he said "She could be useful. Girls are pretty good fighters. Looks at Barbara Gordon. Yes she might of lost her legs for a year but with physical therapy she got back on her feet and continued to fight..." he said nodding

"Red Hood? Red Hood isn't anything like the boy my cousin adopted. And I wasn't saying anything bad about Jason. What happened to him was tragic. He was far too young to have been in that situation to begin with. I was criticizing Bruce's decisions, not insulting Jason. I don't really understand what you're getting at, since you just told me not to push Lily into becoming my sidekick, and I said I wouldn't. Now you're arguing with me about it, which makes no sense." Kate folded her arms and leaned against the wall. "I wasn't a child hero like you, but I was the child of a hero. And look where that got my family. My mother and sister murdered. I don't blame my father for that at all, but my point is that kids should be kept away from violence. Even though I'm Batwoman, and I have to deal with my fair share of violence every day, I don't think it's right to involve Lily in that, at least knowingly."

Nightwing sighed "I get where youre coming from but maybe you should hear it from Lilys point of view. HSe might want to help people so what happened to her doesnt happen to other people" he said "Plus I dont think Bruce thought Joker was going to kill Jason. Jason went without Bruce to fight Joker alone. That was Jason's fault not Bruce's" he said "But I get you want her to be safe but dont you want her to be happy as well?" he asked "Or would you rather her be miserable and safe?" he asked raising a brow "Thats totally up to you" he said as he walked towards the door. Alfred then appeared behind Kate "Ms Kane your girlfriend is here" he said nodding and leaving. Standing in the foyer was Vanessa Kates girlfriend. They had been dating for about a year and a half and it was quite serious. She was wearing a beautiful red dress and a white sweater and high heels. She had long brown hair and fair skin. SHe also had green eyes. She looked at a painting that was on the wall that she had seen many times before but it always caught her eye. SHe of course didnt know Kate was Batwoman but even if she did know it probably wouldnt matter

Kate was starting to get very annoyed with Nightwing. "Excuse the piss out of me for not wanting to see a child bludgeoned to death with a crowbar again. Here's the thing, Dick. I don't need your unsolicited advice, and I definitely don't need your smarminess. I'm trying to offer some much-needed stability to a kid whose life has been violently uprooted. I don't share your father's boner for 'justice' that's actually just revenge half the time, and I'm not going to teach a little girl that the only way to heal her trauma is to go beat someone up. In fact, I think Bruce was wrong to teach his kids that, and I'm not going to apologize for that statement. If you're done with the computer, kindly get out."
Kate was so irritated with Nightwing she didn't notice Alfred or Vanessa.

Nightwing nodded softly and left. Meanwhile in the foyer Vanessa stood and gripped her purse in her hand and started to walk further into the mansion. She noticed the little girl and smiled and slowly approached her. SHe spoke softly "Hi you must be Lily. Ive heard so much about you" she said. She then sat across from her. Lily looked up at her then back down at the ground. Vanessa smiled softly "You know your mo- I mean Kate has some really cool things and actually has a ps5" she said nodding. Lily looked up at her when she mention the ps5. Sheh ad always wanted to play one but they were really hard to get

Kate was still annoyed as she made her way back up to the Manor. She didn't remember Richard being that audacious, and she definitely didn't remember him blaming Jason for his own death. Whatever was going on with him, he wasn't welcome back until he fixed his attitude. When she entered the sitting room, she was a little surprised to see Vanessa there. This wasn't an opportune time. She was trying to get Lily accustomed to being here and getting used to her on her first day, and in her mind that meant not introducing her to too many people too quickly.

Vanessa stood when she saw Kate "Hey I just wanted to drop this off to you. you left it on my dresser" she said handing her a necklace that looked quite expensive. She smiled "Ill just get going to leaqve you two alone..." she said nodding as she made her way towards the door and left. Lily continued to look at the floor not really looking up at Kate at all. She was deep in thought, SHe continued having flashbacks off her parents death. The only reason she survived was because Batwoman showed up just before Alice decided to kill her. She remembered alot of what happened. She winced at the thought of it. SHe then snapped back to reality and looked up at Kate as her stomach started to growl. SHe was starving considering she hadnt eaten anything but the small sandwiches that alfred prepared today. She held her stomach as it cried out for food.

"Wow, that was a big growl," Kate observed. "It sounds like you're hungry. I'll have Alfred bring some more food. What do you want to eat? What are your favorites?" She was still looking for ways to engage Lily in conversation. Talking about food wasn't really on the level of emotional maturity she was looking for, but she had to start somewhere. She'd rather discuss superheroes, as they said they would, but she'd take any topic she could get. "Just tell me what you want, and I'll have Alfred make it for you."

Lily then looked up at Kate "I-I like meatloaf and mashedc potatoes..." she said nodding a bit as her stomach growled more as the thought about food. She often found herself not eating sometimes because she was stressed. She then sighed and looked up notcing Alfred appearing next to Kate "Is there anything I can do for you ladies?" he asked lifting a brow. He then started to clear the small sandwiches and tea putting everything back on the silver tray. He then waited for Kates response and stood there holding the tray

"Actually, yes. If you could make some meatloaf and mashed potatoes, that would be great," Kate instructed. She was pretty sure Alfred had heard the conversation, but sometimes Alfred was adorably dense and needed someone to say things in no uncertain terms. "I think we have all of the ingredients in the fridge and pantry for it."
