Nightly Lessons Book I: The Book of Beginnings

[Peeker]

"It'll get better after you've gotten some oils and stuff on it." Janus said, as the dvd's menu finished loading. He tapped a few buttons on the controller, and the music began to play. "It takes a little bit, though. The gloves'll help... when I first got it - there's this one spot right on the back of my neck that's still driving me nuts because I broke it open.... other than that, almost all my other ones are fine: just the ones I busted up are still bothering me."

Aleksandr nodded, satisfied at Janus' answer, and began to apply the cream to Alice's arm. "Thank you, Janus.... I'm sorry to force your hand, dear, but I really don't want you to lose patience and suffer longer than you have to here."

"Easier said then done," Alice sighed but her mood changed almost instantly. She seemed less antsy and irritated. "Thanks."

Once she was sure she wasn't going to be itchy for a long time, Alice walked over to Janus and sat next to him.

"If it's going to itch like this for a week..." She groaned. "I'm in hell."

She then looked at Janus and before hte boy could stop her, she wrapped herarms around him and patted his hair.

"Im so sorry. You've had to put up with this longer," She then made herself comfy under the blanket so that they both could enjoy the movie, making room for Aleks. "Come on, Aleks. You've had this before right? Join us."

Janus blushed from his ears to his toes, and hugged the girl back, unsure of what else to do. "It... its okay. Really." He assured, embarrassed.

Aleksandr sighed, and smiled at his girl, and joined the pair on the couch, letting them settle in against him.. or, more accurately, Alice settle in against him, while Janus remained vigilant at her side until he began to nod off during the film. Aleksandr had not had the Blood Spots before, only knew enough from experience to have a fairly fatalistic view about it... It would come, it would happen, and it would leave. ...rather like a meteor shower.

Until then, Mikeal would rest, and Aleksandr would hope Alice would rest... and they'd all be okay. There was a movie, they were together... and this was really rather nice. ...as long as Alice was comfortable - they'd be fine.

Out of kindness. Alice didn't stetch out completely on the couch, wanting Janus to feel comfy too. Curlly up to Aleks, feeling comfort on both sides of her, Alice watched the movie only half hearted as she enjoyed the vague feeling of a family once more. She enjoyed this closeness, thrived on it without knowing it, at lest not conciously.

Like Janus, Alice soon followed into dreamland, full of all things sweet and kind, her ear resting about Aleks heart.

Mikeal stirred in his bed, the pain having dulled some now that he had slept. However, like anyone he couldn't sleep all day and his stomach demanded a bit of food as well. Grabbing a robe and pair of thick slippers, M<ikeal gave Caboose a pat and woddled outinto the hallway towards the kitchen. He vaguly waved at Lucy who was giving Klo a good cleaning, and entered the kitchen to see Aleks more or less pinned by his girl.

"You know... having her lounge up next to Janus isn't going to help her anymore against getting Blood spots Aleks," He stated as he made a quick tuna sandwich. "How are they by the way? Did Janus remember to take his medicine?"

[Peeker]

"They fell asleep about twenty minutes into the movie. Janus took his medicine right before... but its been about an hour, now. I thought it prudent to let them both sleep, instead: it appears Alice may already have it." The man tilted his head, looking down at his girl. "...she has no idea what she's gotten herself into, but she's already scratching - take a look, Mikeal." The man gestured to her arm: the redness had gone down, and the marks she was sporting looked a bit... different than those on Janus. They hadn't spread, for one thing - the boy had them along both arms, his neck, and even a couple on his face... Alice's were only on that one arm.

Mikeal groaned in slight iritation. Just what he needed in the moment. Fledglings being sick buddies. If he remembered correctly, he, Freddrik, and gabby had been that with the flu. It had been stressful for everyone, given Freddrik was constantly moaning. He could just picture Alice being angry over being stuck in bed.

"Great. Just great. Just fucking peachy," He growled as he bite into his sandwich, sending Aleks an appologetic look.. He normally didn't swear. Irritation got the better of him. "Let me look."

He gently slipped Alice's arm in his hand, careful as to not awaken her.

"Hmmm.... spots look odd..." He muttered reaching up to push her ssleeve up a bit and tug the collar of her dress to check her neck area. "It hasn't spread... yet. I don't Aleks, could be Spots could be allergies. Does she have any seasonal stuff?"

Aleks shook his Alice. Alice didn't have allergies other with not listening when she should and that didn't count.Mikeal sighed and looked at the clock.

"All I can sugguest is get her to take some of the mechine next time Janus does. That way we can be safe until another two hours or so. If they haven't spread by then, she's fine."

Alice groaned a bit and turned, pulling her arm free from Mikela and suddenly wrapped them around Janus, snuggling softly into him and falling deeper into her dreams.

Janus' eyes opened, surprised. Aleksandr, smiling, held a finger up to his lips to suggest the boy stay quiet: no need to awake the girl, after all... the boy's head bobbed slightly in agreement, and he closed his eyes again, enjoying the girl against him.

Aleksandr crossed his arms, and leaned back, smiling proudly at Mikeal: Razziel had done well with this one, sad to say - he knew how to take an order, when he needed to... as jumpy as the boy could be at times, as hurt as he might have been... he was no slouch when it came to giving a hundred percent when it was demanded of him.

The boy blushed, gave a soft smile, and closed his eyes again, trying to get comfortable without waking Alice.

Mikeal smiled at the pair and looked at Aleks.

"Seeing that you're trapped in the moment, would you like me to get you anything?" He offered trying to be a little more like his normal self. "I'm sure it won't kill me to be a little bit more of a host."

[Peeker]

The man raised his free hand, and extended his fingers, giving it a stretch. "...ah, perhaps something cold to drink? Other than that, this is really quite comfortable - thank you, Mikeal." The man responded, easily. "I think we're just fine... these two look rather comfortable, all things considered, wouldn't you agree?

Janus blushed a little more, and the corner of his mouth twitched up into a smirk, but he said nothing... better to let the adults think they had their privacy.

Mikeal however didn't missJanus' smirk and glently tapped him on the head.

"Careful buddy, fathers are like bears over their daughter. They'll go after you if they feel your trying to steal them away," Mikeal stated with a little smile. He then looked up at Aleks. "Takes after me so that it's almost scary, don't you think? Maybe we should warn all the Sires with girls about him."

He laughed slightly, quickly quieting when Alice groaned in her sleep and locked her arms tighter around Janus. She wasn't ready to wake up just yet. Mikeal then walked over to kitchen to fetch Aleks a tall glass of Peach flavored Ice Tea and a glass of blood for Janus.

"Geez, when she sleeps, she sleeps," Mikeal commented setting the blood down and handing Aleks the drink. "How have you to been. i hear she stayed at Lord Dimitrius' place some time ago. Did it go well, or was she her normal self?"
