Nightly Lessons Book I: The Book of Beginnings

[Peeker]

"So Alice?" The man had softly opened the door after knocking, hearing an affirmative from the other side that he could come in. "What can you tell me about those thirty pages of boring?" Her room was messier than usual - a clear result of what puppies can do to a person, pen or no pen to hold them. "I'm thinking maybe we'll just quiz you a bit so we can get back to our piano lessons, hm?"

He pulled up his usual chair, and sat down. Klo barked happily, and smiling, Aleksandr reached out to scratch behind his ears. "Hello there, Klo. Have you been helping Alice study? Good boy." He grinned, and looked up at Alice. "So what can you tell me? Or does the hound know more than you do?"

"Ha ha. Very funny Aleks," Alice glared at him a little before making herself comfortable, sitting lazily in a Indian styled pose with her hands on her ankles, rocking softly back and forward. "the last time anyone saw or spoke to Galextroze was two years before the Blood Wars. He was mad because Dimitrus had made a demand that the laws on human hunting had to be changed. Galextroze had written most of the laws, saying humans were basically cattle and if turned they had to be place under trails to see if they were worthy of being a vampire. Some say he started the Blood Wars..."

She continued for a bit, getting little bits of help from Aleks when she would get stuck on a name or when she forgot certain facts. After a good fifteen minuteds she looked highly bored with the quiz and looked at Aleks with a sigh.

"Are we done yet?"

She wanted to end the history lesson. There were so many names in Galextroze history section that she didn't know yet. Dimitrus was one of them. She didn't know it was Aleks Sire, just as she didn't understand what the Blood Wars were about. It would take her some time before she would get to it's history.

[Peeker]

"Enough. You're getting there. That end part was a little shaky though, dear." Aleksandr scooped up Klo, scratching under his chin as he stood. "To the ballroom, then? I suppose we could both use a break from old Dimitrius." He grinned.

The two made there way down to the ballroom, and the old pattern of lessons they'd shaped over the past two years began to fall back into place.

"Alice?"

Aleksandr was a patient man. He'd been patient through her teasing, through her constant distractions - she'd been as worried about Klo as she had been with her playing, which had suffered for it. He'd been patient through dinner, where she'd let her food go cold, trying to feed Klo. But this...

Aleksandr loved these shoes.

"Alice.... I think we need to talk." The man knocked softly on her door. "...open the door right now, please."

Alice was giggling madly as Klonoa was chasing her hand under the sheets. It was amusing to see the pup hoping all over the place, trying to caught her hand, but she stopped long enough to hear Aleks knocking on her door.

"Coming!" She yelled, giving the puppy a loving kiss and then skipping towards the door. "It's open you know. What's up Aleks? you haven't done a bed call like this since my fifth month.... what the hell is that?"

She pointed at the shredded leather that he held in his hands, a foreboding feeling growing in her stomach.

[Peeker]

"I have had a very trying day, Alice. You will admit I have been very patient with you today, correct? My study...your music lessons...dinner.. I have been quite patient. ...did you know that Klo made his way into my bedroom, as well? ...and enjoyed himself chewing up one of my favorite shoes?"

Aleksandr dropped the offending leather onto the floor. He walked in, and sat on Alice's bed, picking up happy Klo by the nape of his neck. He smiled at the pup, which happily barked back, as though oblivious to the threat that Aleksandr presented to his mistress.

"...I do not want this to happen tomorrow, Alice. I should not need to be so patient. So I'm going to instill another change in our schedule." The slipper Mikeal had used a few days ago appeared on the bed. "In addition to foul language - which you've been exepctionally good about today, thank you - being punished, your... puppy-crimes... will be dealt with at bedtime, dear. Starting tonight. Is that understood?"

"What?!" Alice protested and picked up the shoes, wanting to claim it wasn't as bad as it looked. It failed though when the shoes fell completely apart in her gentle hold. "That's totally not fair! Aleks, I never let him in to your room..."

She noticed the slipper and instinctively cover her rear, she still hadn't changed into her pjs yet, she knew she should have done that as well.

"Aleks, this is totally not my fault. The imps must have left the door open..." she whined lightly but neared him never the less. She would admit he had been patient today, but that didn't mean she wanted a spanking anymore. "Come on Aleks, please..."

[Peeker]

"Please what? Please don't punish you for being irresponsible all day? ...what comes of that? I find my other shoe gone tomorrow? What else? Gabriella's music box? I'm sorry, Alice, but I won't have you making this mistake tomorrow because I'm irresponsible. Now get yourself ready for bed, and call for me when you're ready. I'll bring him back in when you're allowed out of the corner."

Saying such, leaving the slipper in the middle of her bed, Aleksandr lifted Klo up, and carried the pup out of the room.

"I'll be in my study, Alice."

Alice groaned as she quickly changed out of her day cloths and into a pair of sleeping shorts and a light and baggy T-shirt. She finished it up by braiding her hair up, it had gotten so long it was getting hard to brush it in the morning, and looked herself over. if she was wearing shoes, it would look like she was getting ready for PE.


"great, corner time too?" she mumbled to herself and walked out the door, making sure to wear her Gir slippers along the way. "This is a cruddy way to end the day on..."

She stopped in front of Aleks' study, calming her heart as much as possible and knocked on the door.

"Aleks?"

[Peeker]

"Hello, Alice. I'm glad to see you're ready. Let's get this over with, hm?"

Klo was busily playing in the middle of a bubble of force, biting and gnawing away at the remains of his earlier mess. "Be good, pup." Alek scolded. The dog barked happily in agreement, and Aleksandr led his charge back to her room, his arm comfortingly draped over her shoulder.

"Don't worry, dear. There's no great lesson here - just a reminder, hm? You'll be just fine in the morning." The man could only offer so much comfort - she'd just had a surprise spanking thrust upon her. He was proud she was taking it so well, but other than that, well... She needed to face her punishment, now.

Aleksandr sat himself down on her bed. "Slippers off, and over my lap, Alice. You know how to do this by now."

"Yes, Sire."

She mumbled unhappily under her breath as she slipped them off and crawled over his lap. For once she would love it if she didn't have to get spanked threw an entire day or get herself into trouble.

She take careful care to make herself comfortable across his pa and lay correctly at the same time before grabbing a pillow and tucking in in her arms against her chest.

"I'm ready..." She didn't sound ready or happy about it, but since when did anyone.
