Sel laughed. "Of course, I bet you've traveled this route thousands of time. I apologize if I offended you." Sel released her arm. After only a few hours they approached the gate of Dent. They were stopped by the guards outside the gate. "What is your business?"
"We are only merchants. Devian show the guard your license." He realized he had forgotten to tell her that they were not to reveal the intention of their journey until they reached the Princeps of Dent himself. It had been rumored that the giants had sent human envoys themselves to various principalities. Hopefully, Devian would cooperate or the mission may be jeopardized.

That little request would've been better in the open for partial reveal she did commit to. Devian gave a blank stare in return to his request of bringing out her license. "We are more than merchants. Quit sugar coating and be honest, idiot," she criticized him in a tone that sounded more bored than truly entertainment like before. She took out her id and showed it to the guards. Devian couldn't understand why Sel was being so vague with the details. In her opinion, hiding info purposefully only brought more of a burden. The point of this whole journey was to gain allegiance. The only way to gain favor was to be truthful and forward. Devian stared back at him, mockingly, as if that tid bit was more than obvious.

Sel became annoyed and scowled. But Devian had not yet ruined the mission, so he couldn't do anything about it. "That will be all," the guard said and let them in. "Quite cheeky, aren't you," he muttered to Devian. "Let us find the Princeps." Sel saw the largest building and walked towards it. Perhaps Devian knew the city better than he did, but he was to busy envisioning spanking her across his lap again to think about asking her for directions.

"Thank you," Devian grinned at him as if it were to be a compliment. "Though, you'd best get used to it," she added while allowing him to take the lead. She stared up at the large structure, knowing well that this wasn't the place they were quite looking for. "Do you intend to aimlessly enter random places until we find these 'princeceps' of yours?" she asked with some sass. Devian refused to enter the building if that was the case. "It'd be best to find an atlas or someone who can show us around. Obviously your lost in your own little world." Her words were like steel grating against steel. And, once more she delighted herself in seeing the annoyance deep within Sel. Despite what happened at the hotel, she didn't think he'd have the nerve to reach for her in public.

Sel frowned. While he was annoyed, her words did make sense. "Well, we can try it your way if you would like. Did you intend to ask the guard for an audience?" Sel sighed and pointed out a set of guards in central square near the fountain. "Go on, show me what your many years of experience as a trader has shown you." Sel's tone was slightly mocking. This brash girl better put up or shut up.

"Teh," Devian huffed with that annoying little smirk of hers. She walked right past Sel and went over to a merchant's stand instead. Trader's don't typically speak with guards, they go right for the seller booths, she chuckled internally. Devian gave a few quick hand gestures, the male behind the stand returned those gestures at the same pace. Devian returned to Sel in less than five minutes with a cocky smile firmly placed on her lips. "Northeast of the city, between the medical and storage housing," she informed him. "You really think I was going to bug the guards anymore than we already have? What a stupid suggestion, " she beamed at him before striding off onto the path the other trader described. The path ways were narrow and not really traveled much on. In fact, the two of them appeared to be alone. That was the purpose, seeing as the merchant claimed it the fastest route and far less crowded than the common streets. Devian kept a certain amount of distance between Sel. If he so wished to get back at her, this area was definitely the place. That didn't mean she'd allow him to though.

Sel fumed, but followed Devian. It seemed that she knew what she was doing. Yet he did not take kindly to her cheek. Why had the council burdened him so? He wished to grab her and teach her another lesson in the abandoned corridors, but she was moving too quickly. It did not matter to him, there would be plenty of time later. Sel began to tire in the heat of the town and panted, "are we there yet?" Dent had a far less hospitable climate than he expected considering all of the vegetation in the area.

Devian slowed her pace, finding his exhaustion in her favor. "We will be in a few seconds. Need a breather or something?" she asked. She quietly went over to him, took out a small watering can out and handed it over. For a brief moment, Devian actually appeared to be concerned for Sel's well being. She had wanted to tire him out, push the desire of putting her across his lap again, but did not want him in such a state that he was panting. Her mirrored eyes gazed deep into his, both attractive and filled with interest in his current condition. "Sorry...for speeding..." she mumbled. It was a little huffy and clearly not something she wished to say. It was a strained apology, but an apology none the less.

Sel accepted the bottle. "Thank you. That is very hospitable." He took a small sip and swirled it in his mouth. He wiped the sweat from his brow with his cloak. "Let us continue, do not worry about me," he said handing the water bottle back. He realized that Devian was making an effort and decided to meet her halfway. He indeed did regret their rocky start and even though he did enjoy spanking her, he did not want them to have a strained relationship. "Devian. I am glad the council hired you to help me."

"Em?" Devian murmured, baffled by his declaration while tucking the watering can back into her bag. Every time she turned he seemed pissy about something. What made him come out of his hole and say something so off kilter, Devian wondered silently. "You're...odd...but tolerable..." she added in a somewhat awkward compliment. There were many other things she could've said, but somehow the word odd seemed to sink in. "I do not see how you are 'glad,'" she pointed out to him. "But...thank you I guess..." she murmured. Devian paused at the buildings front. This was the place the merchant described to her. Tall, overbearing, and not really friendly looking on the outside.
Devian didn't really go up to the door though. She should've, would've, but she felt bad for leading Sel on when he was tired. Without another word, she took Sel's hand and went back to the deserted alleyway. "They...they can wait a minute...for us..." she said somewhat hesitantly. There was a light glow in her cheeks, if he cared to notice. She leaned against the wall, glanced over at Sel briefly and almost expectingly.
