Eleven year old Megan was so excited today was her friend Ally's thirteenth birthday and the party was on the beach. The girl couldn't wait to go even if she had to sneek out seeing as the party started at five when the sun started to set and there was school tomorrow. Damn it being a Thursday. Why couldn't Ally move it? Oh well she didn't want to wrack her friends birthday. Yet it did seem odd to have it at the beach after the sun went down during winter. Oh well there were bound to be cute boys there maybe even Jason the cute fourteen year old she liked.

The blonde haired girl quickly finished wrapping her friend's gift a new bracelet she had saved up to get her. She was glad that school had ended for the day, but she was worried that she wouldn't make it to the party in time. As she wrapped the gift up in her room on the second floor of the blue house a car pulled up in front. It was her older brother Todd. Todd a rather thickly built young man of twenty five years had just moved out of the house last week and to an apartment across from the beach the party was at. It was also close to the college where he studied History. Todd parked his car, got out and locked it. Walking to the front door he knocked loud enough to be heard, but he didn't break down the door. In his hand he had a bag with Chinese take out in it.

Lilly was Megan's sister, she had dark brown hair but her eyes were brown like her brother's, not blue like her Daddy's. Actually, Lilly was much closer to her older brother than her Dad as the two of them didn't see eye to eye very often. She had bought their friend a teddy bear with big shiny eyes.

"Are you thinkin about Jason again?" Lilly asked, noticing her sister had that day dreaming look on her face. "Come on we're gonna be late for Ally's party!" she yelped, scruffily wrapping her own present and begining to head out, oh no! Todd's car was there!

Henry was a proud father of three beautiful children, and he loved them all very much even if his daughter Lilly didn't speak to him all that much. He looked out the window, moving a hand through his medium brown hair when he saw his son Todd.

"Alright, hold your horses." Henry chuckled as he made his way downstairs to open the door.

As she finished her wrapping Meg started to day dream. She still needed to change her clothes for the party, but she would do that later. At Lily's voice she came back to the planet earth and looked at her sister. "Oh, umm...yea." She said as she stood up. "Oh wait a minute I am not ready yet!" Meg said as she went to her closet and opened it. It was an okay size, but instead of going to the bath room or something she closed the closet down and changed her clothing quickly. Coming out again she was wearing a red skirt and a black and white striped short sleeve shirt. Grabbing her black sweater she then heard what Lily said.

"Oh. um quickly out the back. We'll cut through Mrs. Yaum's yard." Meg said as she grabbed her gifted and waited for their father to go down the stairs. "Come on down the back stairs." Meg said as she made her way past her sister and down the back stairs that lead into the kitchen.

Todd heard his father and smiled. As the front door was opened he grinned. "Man dad I thought I was gonna have to eat this Chinese takeout myself or die from hunger." He teased as he come into the house.

Lilly looked over to her sister as she yelled that she wasn't ready, well that was typical Megan. Lilly on the other hand was dressed in a grey t-shirt, black shorts, some knee high black and white converse and a black hoody. She was a total tomboy.

"Okay good idea." she whispered back, picking up her present and followed after her sister.

Henry smiled, "Come on, bring it all into the kitchen." he laughed, taking a few bags and bringing them through. But then he saw his two daughters, sneaking out. "Lillian and Megan Carter!" he snapped, "You girls are in big trouble!"

Lily turned round, she wasn't really that scared of her dad....she just hoped Todd wouldn't find out.

Letting out a chuckle Todd was glad he had a good relation with his father that he didn't get mad over a joke. Closing the door behind him he followed his father into the kitchen and didn't like what he saw. He didn't say anything, but he did look stern at his sisters.

Meg jumped at the sound of her father's voice and turned around to look at him. "But daddy we weren't doing anything wrong. Just going to ... look at something in the backyard." Meg said clearly lying, but she hoped her father didn't catch the lie. As she spoke she hide the gift behind her back.

Henry wasn't an idiot, he knew the girls wanted to go to some party and they were also clutching presents. "You know I don't like it when you lie to me Megan." Henry scolded and sighed a little, "Right, looks like Daddy is going to have to spank you." with that said, he took a hold of his daughter's arm.

Lily scowled and rolled her eyes, "Right then, while you abuse my sis, I'll be in my room." she stated, walking past the man. Well, Henry wasn't her real father, he had just taken her on, she never saw him as her real dad and that put strain on the two of them. But her and her brother were related because they had the same mother.

Henry frowned, but turned his attention to Megan. "Go and stand in the living room corner."

"What? No you can't. Let me go damn it!" Meg yelled as her dad grabbed her arm. The last part just slipped out. "I am sorry. I didn't mean to say that." She added quickly as she wiggled trying to get away from her dad. Looking at Lily there was a look of panic in her eyes as her eyes begged her half sister to help her.

Todd put the bags in his hands down on the counter and closed his eyes. Fist closing together as Lily spoke about being in her room. He opened them just in time to see her walking past him. "Dad let me handle Lily." Todd said to his dad as he turned to look at his little sister.

Meg was quick to run to the living room. Moving away from everyone she stood in there corner her butt to the wall. 'Maybe he isn't gonna spank me after all.' She though thankful to herself.

Henry looked at Todd and sighed, nodding his head. "Alright son." then he walked into the living room where he saw his daughter. "Nose against the wall little missy." he told her, twirling her around and landing a light warning smack to her butt.

Once Lily was in her room, she was listening to her Ipod on full blast and throwing a ball up and down in the air.

Meg was very much on edge now as she watcher her father come closer. "But daddddddddddddddddyyyyyy." She said in a long whine. "Why can't we go to Ally's party? Her parents are there." She then added. "Agggrrr." She then whined again as she was turned around and smacked on the butt.

Todd getting the okay from his dad went up to Lilly's room and opened the door. Walking in he closed it behind himself and went over to where Lily was. Seeing the ball being thrown up into the air he caught it. "Lily." Todd said in a stern voice. "We need to talk."

Henry shook his head, "Because I have said no, and what I say goes young lady." he answered, picking his daughter up and leading her to the couch, then he sat down and pulled the girl over his lap. "I had hoped you would be a good girl and listen to Daddy."

Lily frowned and unplugged her earphones when her brother walked in. "Whatever, what's on your mind bro?" she asked a little bored now that her ball had been taken away.
