"I will Da! And maybe we can go there too! And take a boat or go swimmin'." She smiled.
They soon sat on the couch and Sandy snuggled close. Her father asked what she wanted to look. "Hmm do they have a movie for us? Or maybe we could watch one of the quiz shows." Little Sandy liked to guess with the candidates and liked to show her papa that she was a smart girl.

They found something to watch and it became late. Sandy rubbed her eyes and yawned. "I'm tired Da..I wanna sleep in ye bed." She uttered and asked him. More often than not she even crawled into her father's bed in the middle of the night. It was something she was doing since she was old enough to climb out of her crib.

Barney found a nice quiz show for them to watch and noticed that Sandy started yawning. He smiled as Sandy requested to sleep in his bed. Other people -his mother for example- would have slapped her for even asking. But he was happy and didn't mind the company. "Well, first we need to get ready for bed", he said and picked Sandy up to carry her into the bathroom. He helped her brushing teeth and changing clothes and got ready himself. Then, he let her crawl under his blanket and hugged her to him. "Good night...", he said and kissed her on the forehead.

The little one hugged her father and helped as best as she could as she was quite tired. She happily snuggled close when they were in bed and she slept in quickly, lying against her father. Before she drifted off to sleep she muttered a:"Night..wuvs ya."

The night passed and Sandy slept through and stayed dry as well. Like a kitten she was still lying against her father, holding on bis pajama jacket with one hand.
She woke up a bit later than usual and stretched. She looked if her father was still sleeping and gave him a good morning kiss. "Gooooood mooornin' Da! Did ye sleep well? I did!"

Barney slept peacefully and woke up from Sandy who kissed him to wake him up. He smiled and slowly opened his eyes. "Good morning my little lassie...I slept well...I guess...I am happy that you slept well too", he told her and ruffled her hair before he hugged her to him. He wasn't ready to get up yet, and maybe Sandy would cuddle with him a few more minutes before she forced him out of bed, who knew?

Sandy liked cuddling a lot and snuggled happily close. "Ye're all cuddly and warm Da! I'll stay here with ye all day." She giggled. Like a kitten she laid against him and held on. While they laid there, the little one played with her father's pajama jacket buttons. It was very relaxing and nice to sometimes just rest and cuddle a bit. "What will ye make fer breakfast? I'd like sum toast wi jam an' eggs n' bacon!" She licked her lips. Breakfast was usually no time where Sandy was fussy or stubborn. After all it didn't include veggies.

Barney watched Sandy closely as she was all relaxed and calm. It was a seldom sight after all. She looked up and asked him for breakfast. "Sounds like a good plan to me", he answered as she told him about her breakfast wishes. He sat up and looked at her. "Ready to start the day?" Soon, he finished preparations and sat down with his daughter. "Are you excited for the zoo? Which animal do you want to see most?", he asked.

Sandy nodded and stood up. She went to the bathroom and to the toilet and then got down. They could get washed and dressed after breakfast. The little girl sat and waited for her breakfast and her father.
She smiled brightly as he mentioned the zoo. "I like the big cats the best! Like the Tigers! O..or even the panthers. But I like all animals Da...even the big hairy spiders, but only if they are behind glass!" Sandy was arachnophobic and would mosty cry out for her papa if one was close. While Barney tries his best to safe them and put them out, Cemolina mostly crushes them with a newspaper or a shoe. Though most animals of whatever species would avoid her grandma's flat due to her extensive smoking.

They were just about to start their breakfast as the phone rang. It could only be Cemolina, either asking for anything or just to know what was going on.

Barney listened while he drank his coffee. Sandy's excitement made him smile again and he was about to tell her something as well, as suddenly the phone rang. "Oh, that must be your grandmother", he said and stood up after a short moment of hesitation. He wondered what she would do if he simply wouldn't answer the phone anymore. She would probably come over to see what was going on and slap him for not answering the phone... With a sigh, he answered it. "Mom, I don't have time today, Sandy and I will go to the zoo", he said, starting the conversation already with rejecting whatever she wanted him to do this time. For him, Sandy was far more important after all and he promised her to go to the zoo, right?

"Well good morning to you as well Barnabas. So you're at least trying to be some kind of a father."

Little Sandy didn't hear what her grandma said but she watched her father's face while he was talking or listening to her. She happily ate her toast. Her papa was really serious about having a nice day with her.

"Well you know what? Why don't you pick me up then and we can go all together? I rarely see my little grandchild you know?" Now she was being a bit overdramatic but well. "So I will get ready and you pick me up. See you later Barnabas." And she hung up before her son could even answer to that.

Well on one side she may be in a good mood and buy Sandy something, on the other side she might spoil their day a bit. "What did she say Da?" Sandy asked.

"Well mom, I am trying to be, unless you I care for my child", he shot back, but knew she wasn't listen anyway. He sighed. Well, she was his mother after all...

"Don't pretend that you care about Sandy all of the sudden...", he mumbled, more to himself but sighed. "We will pick you up in 20 minutes", he said and hung up. Great. "Well...your grandma will join us...she wants to spend time with you", he told Sandy with a smile, even if it was obvious that he wasn't pleased at all. He wanted to have a nice day, and now that!

Well, how knew, maybe it would be fun...yeah right...
