Which do you prefer: RPG Maker or Twine?
Hi! I've been curious about making games for a while and currently I only have two options: RPG Maker and Twine. I'm curious which one is preferred! Thanks! :3

Honestly, it boils down to what kind of game do you want to make? Both systems are good at different games.
Do you want an exploration, sort of scavenger hunt style game, or an RPG with actual combat? RPG Maker is hands down the one you want to go with.
Do you want to make a more text-heavy game, where you give the player lots of choices (both choices that provide just role playing, and choices that change the direction of the story)? Twine is going to be far superior.
Personally, I prefer Twine, but that's because I prefer more story heavy games that give the player choices that dictate the flow of the story. I'm not a huge fan of the exploration, scavenger hunt style games that RPG Maker is good at.

Thats what I was thinking too! I really wanna make a game where you have lots of choices! I think its possible to do in RPG Maker too! Maybe its just more tedious!

Play around with both. Try a simple scenario, say a spanking where the spanker says different things based on whether the player cooperates or not, and see in which engine it easier to get the effect you want.

Even though I hate turn-based combat (and combat in general in spanking games), I prefer RPG Maker. It allows you to explore an actual world, which adds a lot of versimilitude to the whole experience.

Sorry but I am of the "WTF does combat have to do with spankings? " Crowd. There are way to f'ing many combat based games already, wanna go fight, then stick to fighting. Wanna do diapers and spanking and actually things A SPANKING SITE is supposed to be about then hell to the yeah lets talk! I love RPGM for the flexibility in adding art and pics , and the visual aspects it employs etc.... I am a fan of Twine and other systems for doing CYOS type spanking things.... So its literally a matter of the game maker's choice of flavor.

I mean, I'm pretty torn, both can be used to make great work. Not all RPG Maker games include things like combat, Twine has a lot of its own versatility.
