The Punishment (Anyone can join)

Cassia smiled and nodded, she put the empty tea cups in the dishwasher and popped a bag of popcorn in the microwave. When it was finished, she pulled it out and dumped it into a bowl. Then, she set it on the coffee table in the livingroom and went to grab the pitcher of water from the fridge and three cups. She then pulled the movie Stardust from the shelf, it was a new movie and hadn't been watched yet.

Hector gave a belly laugh and opened his mouth. The little boy sat straight up on his Father's knee and tried to be very still while Daniel held the little chin and carefully made sure that his son's 'chicklets' were nice and white.

Then Hector was held over the sink to spit and rinsed his mouth. Held under his father's arm, the little boy looked up at Daniel grinning and said, "Thank you Daddy, I love you this much!" and Hector extravagantly held out his arms as wide as he could.

"Wow!"said Daniel "that's quite a bit! Guess what! I love you THIS much." He held his arms open as wide as he could. "Oh, look at this. With aour arms like this we just HAVE to hug, it's the law." With that he gave Hector a big brear hug and carried him to his bedroom, depositing him into bed. He gave him a big kiss on the forhead. "G'night Champ." He said, tweaking his nose, and he left the room.

"Ok," said Melanie, who had followed them upstairs. She got the Harry Potter book and sat down in the chair beside Hector's bed. "Let's see where we left young Mister Potter...."

Danile went downstairs and flopped down on the couch next to Cassia. He grabbed a handful of popcorn and started munching. "So what movie did we pick?" He asked, chewing.

"Stardust, it is supposed to be really good." Cassia said, snuggling next to her father. "Is mum coming?" She asked, taking a handful of popcorn for herself.

"She's reading to Hector right now," Daniel answered, pouring himself a cup of water. He sat back and put his arm around Cassia. he loved one-on-one time with his kids. "She usually doesn't mind if we start the movie without her." This was true. As much help as Daniel was with all three kids, and as much help as the girls were with Hector, Mel probably hadn't seen a whole movie since she became a mother. Ok, slight exagerating. "You wanna pop it in?"

Hector felt happy and contented after his big DADDY BEAR HUG and snuggled under the covers when his Father tucked him in and kissed him good night.

Then, when his Mommy came in with the HARRY POTTER book, Hector thought he was the luckiest little boy in the whole world. He peeked out at Melanie from his quilt, under which he was hugging his bear and said, "Mmm, thank you Mommy. I love you just as much as Daddy. We're up to the part with the big dog with three heads."

Hector remembered whatever Melanie read to him like a 'machine,' even if it looked as if the little boy had fallen asleep while his Mommy was reading to him.

You got the part where Hermione uses the "Aloha-mora spell," Hector said eagerly. His eyes were already at the 'blinking' stage.

"Oh yes, of course," said Mel. She was always amazed at Hectors recall when it came to reading. Sometimes just to test him, she would skip parts, and if he had heard the story before, he would always catch her. She began reading.

Cassia got up and popped the movie in. She poured some water for herself and sat back down, grabbing the remote off the table. She hit play and leaned back against the couch.

Daniel gave Cassia a VERY light kick in the butt, he really more brushed his foot against her, as she went to put the movie in, then gave her a "Who me" look when she turned to look at him. he sat and watched the movie with her and two words came to his mind: chick flick. Still, he was watching it with his daughter, so he could bear it.

(I never saw Stardust, but it seems like I remember it being a chick flick.)

Hector sighed contentedly as his Mommy read to him, but eventually he couldn't keep his eyes open any more and said, through a big yawn, "Mommy.....yawn!....say 'To be continued"...yawn!....because bear is falling asleep.....yawn!" And Hector smiled and fell fast asleep himself.
