"No concerts anytime soon," Daniel answered, smiling at her but looking a little cross. He decided to wait for Hector and Cassia to finish their exchange before addressing the toilet flushing.

Cassia smiled and nodded. "Of course you can give me a hug and a kiss." She said, putting the done pancakes on a plate. Before pouring some more, she dropped down to her brother's level and hugged him tight, giving him a big kiss. "I would be sad without my hug," She said, standing back up and continuing with the pancake making.

Daniel walked over to where the two of them were and squeezed Cassias shoulder. "Good morning, Sweetie,' he said. He knelt down to look at hector. "Hector, I know that was you in the bathroom while I was taking my shower because I heard you singing," he said. "What are you not supposed to do if you use the potty while somebody is in the shower?"

Hector looked up at his Father and put a finger in his mouth.

Then the little boy looked at his sisters. First at Cassia and then at Andy. He bit his lower lip and putting one hand to his mouth, whispered, "I'm not apposed to flush the potty," he said. Then he grinned as if he had done something very good by giving the correct answer, said, "Is that RIGHT, Daddy?"

Cassia bit her lip, Hector was already in trouble and it wasn't even eight yet. Silently, she continued to cook untill all the batter was gone and two dozen golden pancakes were sitting on the platter.

Hector looked up at his Father and thought quickly. He didn't want to be in trouble. Maybe he could distract Daddy with a quick answer and then a rapid change of subject.

"I flusheded the potty," Hector said and then quickly added, "Daddy, do you want me to get out the milk for you??" (he smiled again - the little manipulative munchkin)

Daniel somehow managed to keep a strait face. "That's right son, and we both know what happens when you break the rules in this house." He held out his hand. "Come on, Buddy."

Hector grew quiet and his lower lip curled out and his eyes grew large.

Without a word, the little boy slid out of his chair and put his hand into his Father's. "Yes, Daddy," he said sniffing a little.

He looked up into his Daddy's face. "You take me to the bedroom?" he asked in a little voice.

"Of course I will, Pal," he said. he took Hectors hand and led him upstairs where he took Hector over his knee and bared his bottom. SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! "Hector," he scolded as he spanke. "Do you remember how Cassia burned her arm with the pasta water yesterday? Well, that could have been me, maybe in a worse place, when you flushed the potty. If the shower is running when you flush the water gets VERY hot. That's why you don't flush when somebody is in the shower." He didn't spank very hard, just hard enough to let the boy know he was being punished.
