Melanie shrank back gathering Hector against her in disgust with the awful poster.

"Hector," said Mel. "I think you KNOW that you're not allowed to play games like these." She took his hand and took him over to a row of games with "Rated E for everyone" stickers. "I'm sure you can find a really fun game here.

"that's right," said Daniel. He gave Cassia a final ten swats then stopped, rubbing her back for a minute. Then he helped her to her feet. "I think you could use just a few minutes in the corner." He gave her bottom a light pat to send her on her way.

Hector's little mouth twisted to one side as the little boy debated whether to make a fuss about not getting to play the inappropriate games that some of the children in his kindergarten class 'claimed' that they played.

He decided not to make a fuss, but he did try to talk about with his mother.

As Melanie picked him up and sat him on a special seat (it was shaped like a tree limb) for Disney's "Tarzan" game, Hector said, "Mommy, how come I couldn't play those games? Philip Douglas and Gavin Sean play them?"

There were two Philips and two Gavins in Hector's class so the teacher always referred to the boys by their first and middle names.

"Well, I',m not Phillip Douglas' or Gavin Sean's mother," answered Mel. "Those games are WAY too violent for you. I'm concerned that if you play them you wil have nightmares. The truth is, I wouldn't want Andy or Cassia playing them."

Danile left Cassia in the corner for a shorter time than normal, only about five minutes. Then he went over and pulled her out of the corner and into his arms. he hugged her tightly, stroking her back. "It's ok sweetie,' he whispered reassuringly. "Punishment over. You are forgiven." Je continued to hug her, offering his shoulder for her to cry on if she needed it.

Hector was appeased at hearing that his two VERY Big and seemingly VERY Grown Up sister wouldn't be allowed to play the two video games. Also, inside of himself, Hector was somewhat relieved. He had been pretty scared by the awful posters and although he was fascinated, he was glad that his Mommy DIDN'T allow him to play the games. Of course, as a manly little boy, Hector was not ready to admit THAT.

He did, however, devote himself to swinging through the trees as Tarzan searched for five bananas that lead to the Jewels of Opar.

"MOMMY!" Hector called excitedly, "I GOT THREE 'NANAS ALREADY!"

Cassia wrapped her arms around her father's neck, hugging him tight and whispering her apologies. She stepped back, pulled her underwear up, her skirt down and wiped her eyes with a bit of toilet paper. "Let's go find Andy." She said.

(Head of the family? Would that be me? :-) Well, for my Bill character, I usually use "Gordon". Does anybody have an objection to that?)

Mel looked atthe game screen. "Wow! Three already?" she said. "That's great, Big Guy!" She actually had no idea if that was good or not, but she had always tried to show an interest in her kids interest's. She hated parents who said "Yeah, uh huh." everytime their kids talked about Barbie or Ninja Turtles.

Daniel stood back proudly as Cassia wiped her eyes, fixed her clothes and said that they should go find Andy. For brief second he was sad at how fast the girls were growing up, but he quelled that quickly. He did, however, kiss Cassia on the forhead before they left the bathroom. "You know how much I love you, right Cassia?" he asked.
