Kodi looked up at the man, "Course I can take care of myself." Kodi said with confidence, but I'm thinkin bout staying round here for a day or so." Kodi scrunched her nose up and wiped some tears. "I ain't scared of the po po's, and I ain't sacred of juvi neither. Kodi sniffled and rubbed her bottom. "I ain't going back to that stupid orphanage though, they feed us mushy stuff for breakfast, and I gotta share a room with bout 20 kids." Kodi stopped and thought for a moment, still teary eyed and sniffling. "What sort of food you got?" She said giving it some thought. "I guess your partment can't be worse than that crummy ole orphanage."

He tough girl act was cute at best especially with the sniffling in between. When asked about food he answers "Good food. I think I got a box of Mac'n'cheese that'll go with some ham steaks." he mentioned. "And I'll even buy that jacket you stole. Looks good on you. What do you say?"

Kodi tried not to sound too interested about the Mac and cheese, even if it was her favorite food. "Mac and cheese is ok I suppose." She wrinkled up her face and looked down at the jacket, "well I do need a jacket, and this one is good as any." Kodi wiped the last of her tears, and nodded.

He nods then takes her hand. If she tried to refuse holding his hand he would continue to insist till she gave in. The nun had been waiting patiently outside the bathroom having heard everything. "I trust she's more cooperative now?' she asked.

Takashi nods. "For now anyway... and she now has a new father in me." he said which made her face light up.

"Really! Oh! thank you! I trust she'll be in good hands now. But what about the jacket." she asked. One that note they return to the department store where she stole the jacket and Takuto pays for it. He then follows the sister all the way back to the orphanage where he signs the paperwork and let Kodi get her belongings.

Kodi resisted as Takuto told her to hold his hand, and groaned a little when he insisted before they could leave the family bathroom.

She stood quietly rubbing her sore denim covered bottom with her free hand, looking down to avoid any eye contact with the nun knowing she had heard her crying, and the sounds of Takutos belt warming her bottom.

Kodi listened carefully when Takuto paid for the jacket, and though she'd not ever admit it, but was relieved when he didn't tell the sales lady that she had stolen the jacket. She didn't say anything to the nun on the way back to the orphanage as the nun went on and on about what a nice man Takuto was, and how lucky she was to be getting a daddy that would love her, and teach her to behave.
While Takuto signed all that papers and worked out an arrangement Kodi could go home with him right away, Kodi went and gathered what few things she had, including a teddy bear she'd had since she was a baby. Kodi returned to the office where Takuto was waiting. She cringed when the nuns insisted on hugging her as they parted ways.

He couldn't help but smile at the teddy bear she took with her. After the nuns finished saying their goodbyes he takes her hand once more and they leave the orphanage. After short buss ride they arrive at Takuto's apartment. "Here we are your new home sweet home..." he said as he held the door open for her to walk in.

OOC: To make it simple, it'll be the same type of apartment as the one Takashi and Lizzie live in.

Kodi walked into the apartment and looked around, "I guess it'll do." She said and set her things down on the couch. She walked over to the kitchen and looked in what appeared to be the pantry, she opened it and check to make sure there was Mac and Cheese. Once satisfied that Takuto hadn't lied about having it, she went to the couch and picked up the tv remote.

He watched her in the kitchen chuckling "Don't worry it's there." he reassured her. Once she moved into the living room to watch some TV he gets starting making dinner. Soon the apartment smelled of cheesy deliciousness as well as the smell of searing ham steaks cooked with brown sugar. About a half hour later, dinner was ready. "Okay kid, come and get it." he said as he set the table with their meal. "I got root beer to drink." he offered.

Kodi was almost a sleep, tired out from her long day when Takuto called for her to come to dinner. She stretched and got up, sniffing the air thinking how much better the food smelled compared to the orphanage. She sat gingerly in the chair, and winced a little.

"Root beer is my favorite" she said letting her guard down a bit. She took a bite of the Mac and cheese, and then started eating it quickly not realizing how hungry she had been. "You cook pretty ok mister."

"As is mine..." he said. He comes back to the table with two tall glasses of root beer on ice. He takes the seat next to her as she compliments him. "Thanks, I try my best. I added extra shredded cheese to make it even cheesier." he lets her get off eating without saying any form of grace. He claps his hands together and thanks for the food in his native language before digging in. "Oh right, I don't believe I ever told you my name. It's Takuto."
