Just to clear up any confusion this section of the forum is not a request area. Unless an artist give their express consent requests are not allowed to be made.

Rules quotes (abbreviated to include only those rules regarding requests):

Forum Rules:
NO REQUESTS: All our resident artists will draw what they want and deserve to be able to do so without feeling pressured to fill in requests. Spanking pairing or setting suggestions are more than welcome as long as they are posted in Picture Suggestions. Artists will view this area for inspiration, however please do not expect your request to be filled.
Unless the artist gives express permission you are not allowed to make a request via the Private Message system under any circumstance. Artists are asked to report abusers of this rule by forwarding the request message to one of the admins.
Persistent requests are a form of harassment and may result in a permanent ban from this site.

Gallery Rules:
No Requests are allowed within any area of the gallery

Oekaki Rules:
No Requests are allowed within any area of the oekaki

As these rules have only just been updated existing posts will not be penalised (although if you are worried you can request their removal using the report button). Future posts making requests will be dealt with accordingly remember:

Just to clarify matters, even if might seem obvious, where does a suggestion and and request begin?

@Lakot: As the rules have only just been updated (due to a member posting a request in the comments feature of the gallery) you were not to know so not problem

@Zac: You are right, there can be a fine line between requests and suggestions...

Things to think of:
1. Never ask a certain artist to draw a picture unless they have said they are taking requests
2. "I want" gets you banned :P (just kidding, but do it too much and you will get banned)

Examples:
"I would love to see a pic of Sara from Love Hina getting spanked"
This I would class as a request. No thought has gone into it so its just a case of "I want to see this character spanked"

"Please draw sara from love hina getting spanked"
This is definitely a request

I think that Sara over Keitaro's knees with the rest of the cast (See exceptions below) lined up with implements of their choice would be pretty funny. To spice things up a bit more you could throw in either a nervous looking Su (I swear she needs a spanking almost as much as sara) or a very red bottomed Su in the corner. I can't see shinobu as a spanker - she is far too shy so maybe she could be comforting the either freshly spanked, or about to be spanked Su..."
This is definitely a suggestion. (It took me a while to think up a setting etc) Notice how there is a lot more information than just a character name - if you don't know why a certain character should be spanked try starting a thread asking other members what they think in the "Spanking Chat" section of the forum - you might be surprised at some of the replies you get.

I would have tough 'I want' would not be the key differance, but rather the level od detial, and the fact it is not targetined at anyone.

Well: Editing the words "I want someone to draw this for me" out of it is a good start, followed by the "thanks in advance" that should vanish too.

would saying a certain artist would do a good job of a suggestion be a request, or just adding to a suggestion? i'd like to know that before i get hammered for it

A lot of people reply to my picture with the question: "Do you take requests". Is it alright for me to post a reply to these questions or should I leave it to private message? Often I post a generic reply message of: "I take requests at blah blah" in hopes that other people that post the same question "do you take requests" will read it and not post it elsewhere. Is this the right thing to do? I don't want to cause trouble! WAAH! (Like the boy that did not empty his mailbox, I fear the five or six ninjas that will come for me in the night... or during noon-time naps).

I wonder if it would be possible to send out these rules in some kind of an email/PM/place where the people of slower brain-function such as myself will really notice? I would have never known about the rule update had I not been looking for a thread to post in, which brings me to my next question: if someone were to post "I am now taking requests, these are my terms," where would this artist do so? I am confused as to which thread is appropriate! Thank you so much for the trouble Moderator-peoples and\or Ai! --and I apologize for the trouble x10! x15!!! xkeep the ninjas away!

I think according to the rules: "Artists will view this area for inspiration, however please do not expect your request to be filled. ", it might be the best to start a new thread in "picture suggestions", where you give other members the permission to put their request to you there. Elmantonegro did so - thread: "Taking suggestions". But ask the moderators before to get sure.
