God, he was exhausted. Emmett was walking back from the library with his backpack straps slung over his shoulders. There was a massive economics test coming up, one that was worth nearly thirty percent of their grade. He had been studying for days, and he still didn't feel prepared. His apartment was coming into view, and Emmett was looking forward to just putting his stuff down and getting some sleep. Once on his floor, Emmett unlocked the front door and headed in. His mouth dropped open at the sight. The place was a complete mess. There was clothing and food containers everywhere! How had this happened? Where the hell was his roommate?! "Dude, what the hell? You were supposed to be studying, not making this place look like such a shit hole?"

Lucas, unlike his roommate wasn't the studying type. He'd look over it a bit, right about two to fivd notes, and then wing it. Somehow he'd managed to get lucky and score just enough to pass. However, it was clear if he didn't study hard for this test his future didn't look bright. Of course he was too lazy and too much of a party more and study less guy he couldn't see that. While Emmett was out he'd flicked on the tv for a marathon of his favorite show and helped himself to the food in the fridge and the pantry.

A blanket covered in clothes and empty chip bags and a pizza box moved. And the college student made himself known,"Ugh..Oh hey Emmett! Aw yeah sorry for the mess I'll clean it up before I go to bed and oh yeah the test. Don't worry I took some notes and looked over them for like..An hour." He assured. He sat up all the way. His chocolate brown hair a mess, as he reached to get a drink of a half empty Mountain Dew can. The only thing he's wearing is a large T-shirt with the Captain America shield on it that comes to his knees and his black boxers,"You look beat..Here have a drink!" He said, tossing him a can.

Emmett’s brow rose in annoyance at his roommate’s statement, crossing his arms. “How did you even make this much of a mess? I was gone for like five hours!” He said, before running a frustrated hand through his dark hair. Emmett liked Lucas, it wasn’t like the other student was a bad person…just irresponsible and lazy. He caught the can, before putting it to the side with a shake of his head. “Our test is in two days Lucas, and you’re telling me you only studied for an hour so far?” Emmett asked incredulously, unable to believe the calmness in his friend’s tone.

“You do remember this test is like thirty percent of our grade, right?” He added, grabbing some trash and throwing it in their garbage can. “You need to start taking your grades more seriously, or you’re going to end up on academic probation.” Emmett warned his friend, settling on his own bed with a sigh. In truth, he was more than a little worried. Getting out of academic probation wasn’t easy, especially since their classes were going to get harder. “You’re not going to graduate like this Lucas, you have to know that, right?” He asked, leaning back slightly.

Lucas shrugged,"I guess it's a gift. I can make messes in a short period of time." He replied, and stop to get the empty cans. He was a lazy guy, but he wasn't rude. He wouldn't let Emmett clean up his mess. Hearing Emmetts words he nodded,"Yup an hour. I'll take a few notes here and there and study for an hour each day and then I'll just wing it!" He said, as if it was the greatest plan in the world.

Though, when Emmett started to talk about academic probation he looked worried. For a moment, then he shook his head,"Yeah yeah course I remember it'll be fine. I won't get academic probation Emmett. Besides, if I DO feel like I might not be able to wing this particular test. Well..That's what a pen and my arm is for. Just right the notes in a scrambled way and nobody will know. Except you and me of course sooo..hush hush."

“You can’t be serious about that arm thing, Lucas.” Emmett said in surprise, raising a brow. “You know if you get caught, you’ll be expelled.” He added, crossing his arms. “You should just study, like a normal student.” Emmett scolded, sighing at his roommate’s poorly thought through plan. “It’ll take you at least the entirety of tomorrow to study. Just come with me to the library tomorrow, and I’ll give you the rundown on what we need to know.”

Their economics professor was a huge stickler for the rules, and cheating was a huge breach of the college honor code. Hopefully Lucas would take him up on his offer, and they could avoid dealing with all of this. “Did you wash the dishes like I asked you to?” Emmett asked absently, checking the time on his phone. It was getting close to dinner, and he wanted to cook something before going to study again. “Besides, you need to know all this for the final.”

"I am serious and I won't get caught." Lucas said. Trying to assure his roommate the best he knew how. It really touched him though how Emmett cared enough about him that he pointed out how it was wrong and to just come to the library and study with him,"Ugh all day tomorrow? Fine..I'll think about it." He said. Then, threw the last empty Mountain Dew in the trash can.

When Emmett asked if he'd done the dishes however, he mentally cursed,"Uh..dishes?" He questioned. He'd completely forgot! It wasn't entirely his fault though! His roommate had told him to do that while he was watching tv. He was distracted! "Yes yes I know I need to know this. You've told me this yesterday too and the professor too."

“Just come study with me…then you won’t have to risk getting thrown out for an honor code violation.” Emmett said with a small smile, clapping his roommate on the shoulder and heading towards their kitchen. He stopped abruptly at the piles of dishes in the sink, running a frustrated hand through his dark hair and turning around with a glare. “Lucas, you didn’t do the dishes. Again.” Emmett said, crossing his arms.

This was the millionth time it seemed that Lucas had forgotten to do the dishes, or clean something up, and it was pushing Emmett to the limit. “Come on Man, it’s been your turn to do the dishes for like three days.” Emmett snapped, fixing Lucas with an unimpressed look. “What’s it going to take for you to remember to do your part?” He demanded, taking a few steps forward until he was right in front of his friend.

"Okay Emmett I'll go." Lucas replied, though he sounded very reluctant he didn't argue too much. He wanted the conversation about it to be over. So, he agreed. Unfortunately one serious conversation had lead to another and now Lucas stood there sheepishly as Emmett looked frustrated as ever at the pile of dishes.

He nearly jumped at how he snapped like that. Emmett was usually so down to earth and easy going. Now, he looked like he was going to explode with anger. Of course, Lucas tried to calm him down in his own way. Putting his hands up he backed away from his room mate, not liking how he was getting closer,"Whoa chill out Em." He said using his nickname for the guy,"I kinda half heard you today, and I lost track of time." He rattled off excuses,"I'll just clean it now. And next time you can leave a friendly reminder. Like a note or something yeah!"

Emmett’s expression was not impressed when his friend told him to chill. He wasn’t in the mood to ‘chill’. It always ended up being like this. Lucas would tell him that he would do something, but then he would waste time until Emmett got frustrated enough to just take care of it himself. Not this time though, not anymore. Emmett had finally lost his patience.

“You always do this Lucas. And then you make up excuses as to why you didn’t do the dishes. Or didn’t pick up after yourself. Or a million other things. I’ve had enough!” Emmett said sharply, crossing his arms and taking another few steps closer. “I always leave you reminders, and nothing ever gets done. You don’t take responsibility for your actions. Whether it’s studying for a test or doing the dishes. Well, that’s going to change.” He added, snagging ahold of his friend’s wrist and holding on tight. “I’m going to make sure you don’t ‘forget’ anymore.”

Lucas winced when Emmetts voice raised. Putting his hands up defensively still, and gulping. Not liking how ticked his roommate was. Perhaps he'd pushed him way too far. And honestly that scared him. What if Emmett beat him up or decided he wanted to not be with him anymore!? His heart sank at the idea. His eyes widened and he stood frozen as his roommate stepped closer.

"Look Emmett don't do anything you might-" He began, only for the other to grab hold of his wrist. Making him try to pull away. Biting his lip at what he says,"You are? What are you going to do Em!?"
