RWBY: Resonating Soul (inferno_the_dragon_wolf)

A visitor to the island of Patch stands before a lone white grave marker on the edge of a cliff. Etched on it was a white rose with writing beneath it. "Thus Kindly I scatter." Is what it read. The stranger with orange spiky hair knelt down and touched the grave. "So this is where you now rest... Mrs Rose?" he asked as if the departed huntress could hear him. He gives only a half smile. "I wish I could have met you one more time... you inspired me to become a huntsman all those years ago and I wanted to show you how much I've learned. But what's done is done... I guess." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a flute made of bamboo. "I have something I wanted you to listen to. I hope wherever you are now you can hear this." He stands then brings the flute to his lips and with a deep breath he starts a beautiful yet sad melody that resonates deep within the soul of anyone who listens. Even he starts to let a few tears lose as he himself plays.

There was another nearby, someone for important in Summer Rose's life. This someone was Ruby Rose, her daughter. The young woman had heard the flute and was suddenly feeling herself trying to hold back a couple tears. The girl was not sure how but this song hit her deep in the heart, and slowly approached the grave of her mother. She looked towards the male playing the flute, but waited for him to stop before trying to talk. She just stood there listening with her eyes a gentle red color due to the tears stinging them, she gently wiped her eyes and listened to the entire song.

(Oh boy, I can only imagine that)

The melody ends in a somber fade into a moment of silence save for a gently gust of wind. "I didn't expect a live audience." he said. He heard someone approach from behind him while he was playing. He turns to face the girl and for a split second he thought he saw the huntress clad in a white hood but the illusion quickly faded upon blinking. "Sum...! Ah..." he shook his head then looked at the girl who wore almost the same outfit she did only red color. "Get it together Terra..." he told himself with an embarrassed chuckle. "Sorry I thought you were someone else." He looked back down at the grave behind him.

'You must have seen my mother in me, you knew my mother didn't you?' She asked as she herself approached the grave. She knelt before it and looked at it for a moment before letting out a heavy sigh 'I am Ruby Rose, I'm the daughter of her.' She told him. Ruby stood up slowly and turned back around to the man, not sure what to say fully, as she didn't even know who he was.

He bobbed his eyes at the mention of her name. "Ruby Rose... yeah she talked alot about you. How you were he pride and joy." he smiles "My names Terra, Terra Thurston. I come from a small dust mining town on the outskirts of Vale. Needless to say we were, and still are, prone to many Grimm attacks. But thanks to the Dust mines the schnee dust company built a wall around us for protection. But before that we had to rely on huntsman and huntresses for protection. You're mother was one of them who came to protect us. She also stayed the longest with us. About a month or so. She was loved by all the kids and sicne she stayed at my grandparents inn I got the chance to know her the most. She was an amazing women; strong willed and fierce when fighting, yet cheerful and fun loving when not. She could also bake some mean cookies." he chuckled.

Ruby smiled softly, but the smile his a very weak and fragile heart just thinking about her mother. She was still sad about her mothers passing but tried her best to not let it break out and distract her. She looked at terra and nodded 'yeah. That song you were playing, it was very beautiful. Sad, but beautiful.' She praised the piece, looking at the flute that was still in the mans hand. 'Does it have a name to is?' She asked him.

"Hm thanks. I never really thought to give it a name. I'll think about it." he chuckles "Yeah that was a real tear jerker huh? It's actually a lullaby that was sung to me when I was still in diapers." he mentioned. "Music's been a second passion to me... being a huntsman first. You're mother really pushed me over the edge in inspiring me to become one. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be standing here today..." he reaches back and draws his gunlance. "Me and my second pride and joy I've created. This bad boy does have a name; Gungnir. It's a lance first..." he holds it with both hands and pulls out a handle on the side which splits the blade open revealing a gun barrel inside. "...and a high powered rifle second."

She looked at him and examined the weapon 'oh so you have a similar passion like my mother did huh?' She smiled softly, still examining the item he held. She was actually kind of impressed with the weapon of choice.

"Yeah I managed to catch a glimpse of her fighting a big Ursa. It stood no chance against her. She was so fast the Grimm couldn't keep up with her and she tore it shreds! I was in awe of her since then and I strive to be as strong a huntsman as her." he said twirling his lance around and striking a battle stance. "What about you? Is that your weapon on the back of your waist?" he asked noticed her compacted weapon.

She looked at where he had mentioned and in fact he was correct. She grabbed it 'yeah, it's my scythe, it's called crescent rose.' He told him and brought out, 'and it also functions as that of a high caliber sniper.' He showed him the forms
