@spiderx When you say "this site" do you mean the site where you download Java? If so, try downloading Java through Chrome.

I really want to try this out, but for some reason the .exe file won't run when I double click it. It loads for a bit then nothing happens. Updating java didn't help either, no crash log or anything for that matter so I get the impression it plum won't start.
Any advice on that one? I tried the older version that was .bat and that worked well enough.

@Nadja Yeah, sorry. I uploaded a new version yesterday morning that fixes a bug where the player got one too many willpower points when sneaking into Buzzsaw's abandoned business park. Unfortunately, I uploaded the version of the game that uses the (now broken) Parcl program to build an exe, rather than the version that just has a batch script that runs the jar directly.

tl;dr I uploaded the wrong version, but that's been fixed. Try downloading the latest version again. There shouldn't be an .exe file, only a .bat file.

I don't know what to do open this game

@spiderx Try this:

Shift+right-click on the folder containing the .bat. When the right-click menu comes up there should be an option that says "Open command window here."

Do that.

Now in the window that pops up type: ScarletMoon_windows.bat

Press Enter.

E-mail or PM me the contents of that window after the game tries to start up and crashes.

Also, in case you missed it, I've wrapped up the bulk of a new engine in Lua that should hopefully be much less bloated and more cross-platform. The wonderful Love engine allows me to create platform-specific executables/apps without owning the appropriate platform. *That's* what I call cross-platform. I've also made some significant changes to the combat engine to hopefully simplify things, while leaving the door open for some fun powers.

I would be grateful if people could try out the new engine and let me know how smoothly it runs on their computers. Mostly, I want to see if Love and Lua live up to the hype.

The new engine crashes if you lose the battle against Earl. This has been fixed, but I'm not going to bother releasing a new version of the test game, because this is mostly to see if people can get the game running more or less smoothly on their computers.

If it goes smoothly, then I'll start migrating over to this engine (which shouldn't take too long, the data input formats are *very* similar). Most of my time will probably be spent implementing Scarlet Moon's and Buzzsaw's powers, and I've worked really hard to keep that simple.

great update dude, but the spanking with the asian woman in the tower crashes the game in every "submit" option
