Marianne was unlike Marcus or Gabriel not dense

She knew her mother despised poor ( not rich) people and treated Gabriel like Jesus Christ
She could that Gabriel was in a relationship to his teacher

She could that tell that her mother won't approve and that her "discussion" with her was actually a torture session

"The only bad thing is I am not invited I want to beat up Gabriel's girlfriend too" she thought to herself
