[quote=Head Paladin George;962582]Yes, the galaxies are constantly moving AND the universe is proven to be expanding, astronomers looked through an extremely powerful telescope a few years back, and found an empty area of space, no stars, comets, nothing... The image that came back was red, this was due to 'red-shift', this means that the waves of light from returning to your eye are traversing across vast distances, each wave returning at a further distance from the last. This shows the universe is expanding, but the question is: Expanding into what?

This proves true to the big-bang theory, people are deceived by the name. It was not a big bang at all, but an expansion from a single object, supposedly the size of a grain of rice. We are inside that expanding object...

Well ya thats what they say, but I was wondering if theres another possibility that the universe is just infinitely long and big bangs create matter at certain places of it. Cause we never really seen 'the end of the universe' , how can we be sure that the universe is made of something at all.

That works for me. Thanks!

BTW...

Because there is really no such thing as "cold". When an object feels "cold" to the touch, that's because it has a lower temperature than you do, so when you touch it, heat (energy) flows out of you and into it. Heat is like water - it flows downhill, so to speak (down the temperature gradient).

So, now imagine that you have two piles of matter - stuff. Now, push the stuff together. One of two things might happen. One - all of the stuff is the same temperature, so no net heat flow from one pile of stuff to the other occurs. Two - the stuff in one pile has a higher temperature than the stuff in the other pile, so net heat flow occurs from the hotter stuff to the colder stuff.

And that's how people usually talk about it. Temperature relative to other objects, which drives the heat flow (energy flow) process. Instead of "heat flow", you could just as easily invent something called "cold flow" - it would simply be the opposite. Say 10J/s (or W, watts) of heat is flowing out of me into an object (an object that is colder than me, so the heat flow occurs). You might say that 10W of "cold" is flowing OUT of the object, and IN to me. Same energy flow, just a different direction.

That's the best I can do... been awhile since I've done this stuff XD

Thx, I am just hoping the universe is alrdy endless space, that way we are not likely to end up in a big freeze due to expansion of the universe. My hope is that the universe is made eternal after its creation and stays that way =/
