Rafe loved him. That was all the blue eyed man needed to get him through any hardship.

When he woke in the morning it was to the sound of Rafe getting out of bed and heading to the bathroom. "Leave the door unlocked young man." The man called as he rolled over. Steve wasn't too tired to forget the fear he'd felt at seeing his confused lover in the bathroom surrounded by water the day before.

Now that he was awake the dark haired man sat up and stretched, trying to decide what he could do with a possibly sick little boy in the house all day. Luckily he had taken two weeks off the second he'd found out Rafe was going to be okay.

A soft whine was the only response that Steve got when he called out for the younger man to leave the door open. Rafe actually did obey however, the mahogany haired youth doing what he needed to do and then remembering to wash his hands before he made his way back out to the bedroom. He was feeling a bit better than he had the night before but still not great, the strain on his body had really done a number on his immune system it seemed so he'd ended up coming down with something.

Walking back over to the bed Rafe once again picked up the sippy cup, only to turn it upside down with a little pout.

"It's empty," he said as he looked over at Steve, still holding the cup upside down but luckily it was the kind that was spill proof so the few drops of water that were lingering in the cup didn't end up dripping out. Not that water would have hurt anything but it was better to be prepared for those times when the cup held something other than water.

Steve smiled when the other came out of the bathroom and showed him an empty cup. Poor baby. "Give it here, thank you for not locking the door." He wasn't ready to get into another fight through the bathroom door so early in the morning.

"Check your temperature first and then we'll have some breakfast. Are you feeling more cereal or pancakes Rafe?" The dark haired man asked as he headed into the bathroom to before his morning necessaries as well. He washed his hands and grabbed some more aspirin, figuring he'd err on the side of caution.

Rafe could stay in his big shirt all day for all that the blue eyed man cared. And he'd been a little hasty insisting that they'd have to go shopping for clothes anyway. The other man had plenty of gym clothes and pajamas that could be worn while they took this momentary break from reality.

"Alright Wolfie," Steve said as he lifted his mahogany haired lover onto the bed and clicked the thermometer on. "Open wide."

Rafe handed over the sippy cup and then waited for Steve to finish with his morning routine, the mahogany haired young man sitting patiently on the bed as he waited. "I like cereal," he answered when he was asked about breakfast. He was still waiting patiently when his lover came out of the bathroom and his gray-blue eyes focused on the man as he lifted him up and then once again hld out the thermometer.

Just as he had before Rafe opened his mouth so that Steve could place the tip under his tongue. He didn't try to talk around it this time and instead just waited for it to beep, showing that his temperature was 100. Which was still high but not dangerously so and still better than the previous day.

"Can we get breakfast now?" Rafe asked as he gazed at Steve. "And water? I'm really thirsty." Which was likely because of the fever that he was dealing with making him dehydrated.

Steven sighed with relief, he'd been so afraid that the others bad fever would return in the night that seeing only 100 blinking on the little screen made him want to jump for joy. "Yes we can have breakfast and all the water you need sweet pea. Just watch that bossy mouth okay? Daddy is the boss around here." He kissed the others cheeks and offered up his stuffed wolf, taking the others hand to help him down the stairs.

"You can watch cartoons while I make breakfast alright?" The man asked on the stairs, holding tight to Rafe in case the other was feeling unsteady. Steven had done alright going up, but he was still worried about carrying the other down the stairs. It was a really long way to fall.

One of his mistakes the other day had been to wait for Rafe to give him the okay to take care of the other, of that the blue eyed man was certain. So he put on some cartoons and settled the gray-blue eyed young man on the couch with his toy and a blanket wrapped around his legs.

Soon a sippy cup full of water and ice was on the coffee table and Steve was bringing out two bowls of cereal with strawberries cut up in them.

"What are we watching baby boy?" The dark haired man asked as he sat down on the couch and pulled the other to lay with his back to Steve's chest. They had always been a high tempo couple, so cuddling was usually for after sex or rare mornings when they were too tired to do anything. It was nice to sit and watch silly stuff for once.

"I wasn't being bossy though...I said please," Rafe said when he was sort of scolded for what he had said, his gray-blue eyes focused on the man for several minutes before the pair made their way downstairs together. It was a somewhat slow trek for Rafe since he had to be careful, his coordination still hadn't completely recovered from the accident. Thankfully he made it without issue and soon enough he was seated on the couch with his stuffed wolf in his arms and his eyes glued to the television.

He was quiet while Steve went about getting water for the two of them and soon enough the other man joined him, Rafe looking over at him when he asked what they were watching. He snuggled against Steve the moment that he was pulled close, liking to snuggle. "We're watching cartoons," Rafe replied, not trying to be smart, he just didn't know exactly what he was watching.

It wasn't important to him however and he just started eating his cereal while he continued to snuggle with his daddy and watch cartoons.

"What're we gonna do today?" he asked as he happily munched on the cereal.

"Ah how silly of Daddy to not notice the cartoons." Steve teased easily as the next episode started to play. He sort of recognized it from being a kid. The man crunched his own cereal happily as he considered what they could reasonably do here in the house all day.

He hadn't prepared anything for someone who was roughly age of a toddler, in his own mind at least.

The blue eyed man felt guilty suddenly for his unease in the store the day before. He could have gotten any number of things for Rafe to play with, but had been too embarrassed so had only grabbed the absolute essentials. Now all of the shopping would have to be done online and rushed for tomorrow.

"Well you're still feeling sick cub. So I think today we'll just hang out here and watch movies." He perked up a little as a thought came to him. "I can open my picture program from work and you can make a picture to print out too. I'm sorry baby," he hugged Rafe a little closer and kissed his mahogany hair.

"I'll have better stuff to play with tomorrow when you're all better, okay?"

Rafe really did want to know what they were going to do and so he looked at Steve expectantly, waiting for the man to tell him what they were going to do to stay occupied. His gray-blue eyes were focused on the other man as he said that they were going to hang out and watch movies.

He was a little confused by the next words out of the man's mouth though.

"Why are you sorry Daddy?" he asked him, genuinely wanting to know what it was that the man had done that had prompted the apology. He was beyond confused, unable to think of anything that the other man had done wrong.

"I like movies," he said softly, his gaze going back to the TV screen after a moment. "I wanna watch Captain Jack!" he announced after a moment, the mahogany haired young man bouncing up and down on the couch a little bit, luckily having just drained his cereal bowl of milk or else he would have ended up making a mess.

"I'm just sorry that I don't have more for you to play with and do. It's okay though. I'll get something for you later, for tomorrow when you're feeling better." Blue eyes watched the other bounce with a charmed smile. Rafe was the love of his life, but little Wolfie was so utterly adorable that the man could hardly stand it.

Steve caught the bowl from the others hands, glad it was empty. He set both bowls down and nodded amicably. "What's Captain Jack sweetness?"

The brunette asked even as he picked up the remote to find the requested program. "Will you be alright if I do a little cleaning while you watch TV? After you take your medicine of course." He held out two more blue pills for the other to take.

"You'll feel better soon."

"Pirates!" Rafe immediately announced when he was asked about Captain Jack, the mahogany haired young man referring to Pirates of the Caribbean. He bounced up and down a couple more times before settling since he didn't feel well enough to be too energetic right now. His gray-blue eyes shifted to his daddy when the man asked about cleaning and he made a face in response to that but he didn't argue.

"Cleaning ish no fun but you can do it if you wanna," Rafe said before he looked at the pills that were being held out to him.

Pills that caused him to make a face.

"Don' wanna Daddy," he told the man as he gazed at him, giving him the best puppy eyes that he was capable of in the hopes that he wouldn't be forced to do it.
