He exit the store with an envelope and a package. Leaving them on the backseats in the car, he drove to work.
The building where he parked his car was a brand new building and it looked quite fresh and modern. Once he got inside, friendly smiles greeted him. There were plenty of people on the main floor, humans mixed with "them". It had come as a shock across the entire planet when it happened; out of nowhere, it had been as if old fairy tales and legends had become very real. Without warning or explanation, all those human-animal hybrids had revealed themselves and they were prepared to integrate modern human society.
At first, there was a lot of uneasiness and relationships had been far from easy to maintain, but that was exactly why people like Friedrich decided to step up and do something. Thanks to people like him, there were now several buildings just like this one all over the world, where humans and hybrids worked together to both help in integration into a new form of society and to help with relationships. After what had happened, humankind needed all the help it could get and he was sure that it was the same for their kind as well.
Friedrich reached his office, which was quite large and with a nice view of the outside. On his desk, a sign that read "Friedrich Brunel - Director of General Affairs".
