Smash Bros: New parents (For Gare)

The Smash Bros Manor was always full of activity, thanks to all the fighters from different worlds that would gather to test their mettle against each other, but particularily, because of the kid fighters. They were just as skilled as the adult fighters were, but, despite this, they were still kids, prone to causing mischief and problems, specially when they got together.

In the latest instance of their reunion, there was a meeting to discuss how to keep the kids from getting too messy, considering this time all of them were coming back. It was decided that now each kid would have a sort of foster parent during their stay at the house: one adult fighter who would be in charge of helping them, being an emotional support and, yes, even being in charge of punishing their young charge if they deserved it: being a skilled fighter didn't give them the right to act like brats, after all. Finally, the mutual acords between kids and adults were done.

That morning, Young Link woke up, still a little bit nervous about having a "parent" for the first time in his life. He headed towards the kitchen, looking for breakfast, wondering if Snake was already around. He figured that someone who was as used as combat as him would be the kind of company he needed.

Meanwhile, Rosalina was already in the kitchen. She was looking forward to spending some time with Lucas, since she understood the kind of things the poor boy had gone through. After hearing that the kid liked omelettes, she figured that it would be a good way to start the day.

[Gare]

Snake wasn't too happy about this whole kid business. He didn't hate the children or anything, but he never liked being put on babysitting duty. And because of this new rule, he was delegated as one of the ones who had to be on it full time. Unfortunately, even with all his complaining (and there was a lot), the rest of the fighters wouldn't yield, so he had no choice but to accept the job.

He was one of the earliest to get up like always, and decided to wait in the kitchen for his brat to wake up. He didn't pay attention to his housemates enough to when when Young Link, so his breakfast (just 2 pieces of toast, as Snake wasn't much of a chef) got cold way before the kid ever showed up.



Lucas was weary about this whole situation too, but for a completely different reason. From what he saw of Rosalina, she was kind and he didn't have much to worry about, but he was still a bit on edge about it. Especially given what happened to his actual mother, it felt weird that he was getting assigned a new mother figure. When he woke up, he quickly got ready and went to the kitchen like always.

[Frame_J]

"Good morning, Snake" greeted Young Link happily "I didn't get to meet you in the last tournament, so I'm glad I could do it this time"


Rosalina greeted the young boy "Good morning, Lucas, I hope you slept welL" she said, as she floated towards the kitchen table, with a plate of omelette at the ready. "I hope you like it. I'm mostly used to cooking for the Lumas, but I'm sure I can still make regular food decently"

[Gare]

Snake nodded at the kid when he walked in. "Morning." He didn't know too much about the boy, other than that he was probably pretty similar to the other two that shared his name. He would be finding out more pretty soon though, he thought. "Yeah, right back at you. I heard you're a pretty good fighter like your uh... brothers?" he asked hesitantly. He didn't know exactly how the 3 were related, so he figured that was as good a guess as any.



Lucas smiled up at Rosalina, and returned the greeting. "I slept fine, thank you." He looked down at the plate and his eyes widened. "Th-thank you!" he said quickly. He wondered how she knew omelettes were his favorite, but he decided not to ask, and instead just took a bite. "They're really good!"

[Frame_J]

"It's complicated... I guess we are incarnations of the same hero" he explained the best he could "I'm really honored to get to be closer to you. You see, I heard you're a pretty famous mercenary and, well, I figured it would be fun to learn from you.


"I'm glad you like them, Lucas." she nodded "I figured it would be nice to get to meet each other today, since we'll be spending some time together lately. Do you like nature?"

[Gare]

That explanation just made Snake more confused, but he decided to let it go. "Thanks, kid. If you're anything like the other two of them, I'm sure you're a hell of a fighter too."


Lucas continued to eat as he listened to Rosalina. He swallowed what he had in his mouth to answer with a simple "Yes," and a nod.

[Frame_J]

"I like to think I am" said Young Link "I'd really like to learn from you too"


"Ah, good. I thought maybe we could go have a walk. After all, it's a nice way to break the ice"

[Gare]

"I guess I could teach you a thing or two," Snake said with a slight grin. He was still on the fence about this whole thing, but combat practice shouldn't be an issue for him.

Lucas nodded as he continued to eat. "I think that's a good idea."

[Frame_J]

"Thank you, Snake!" said Young Link before starting to eat the toast "Oh, thanks for the food too!"

[Gare]

Snake had forgotten about the toast until Young Link picked it up. "Oh, kid, that's-" he tried to speak but the kid already started eating it. "Uh, no problem."
