Michelle sighed as she felt herself starting to get choked up already "Well I never got to apologize to my parents, not Sonic and Amy but my real parents. I will never forget that morning I woke up in bed and wanted to stay home from school so I could play all day with them, of course my parents told me it was best I went to school and that we could play later when I got home, mom and dad often went on business and I was never sure when they would have to go. So I continued to act up and beg them over and over again if I could stay but they kept saying no, finally I got really mad and said a bad word to them." she lifted her hand and wiped a tear from her cheek "Daddy didn't like that to much for he came right and took me by the hand over to the table sat down at his chair and pulled me over his lap, I kicked and screamed but he bared my bottom and gave me good hard spanking for swearing then momma got a bar of soap and put it in my mouth so I would never say naughty words like that again, after my spanking I will still angry my mouth tasted bad and my parents tried to confront me but I just pouted and ignored them. Shadow listened carefully, but his facial expression, as usual, never changed. It didn't look as if he cared.

But then he put a hand on Michelle's shoulder. He slowly pulled the little girl into a well-meaning hug, a hug that showed that he really did care.

"I guess we have more in common than I thought," he said simply.

Neither noticed that Tails had been looking on. He had paid, was looking for Michelle and was quite surprised by what was going on.

Reliving the pain from that day was to much for the little girl as she began crying uncontrollably she felt an ache in he chest that wouldn't stop, then she felt Shadow's hand on her shoulder and the ache started to ease, she was then pulled into a hug with shocked the little girl but she greatly welcomed it, she wrapped her arms around Shadow and continued to softly cry into his shoulder. Affter a few minutes she started to calm down but stayed in Shadow's embrace while his facial expressions never changed she could fell the warmth in his heart and it was comfronting she only wished she could help him deal with his pain as well "umm Shadow we are friends right? We have to be because only friends can make pains go away I promise I will do my best to help take your pain away too" she hugged him alittle more.

Tails, meanwhile, had put down the equipment and flown off.

Michelle smiled as she felt Shadow stroking her hair it felt nice, she smiled even more when he said in his own way that why were friends she tried hard not to exclaim 'yaaay' but she thought it, after another minute Michelle stood up and wobbled about on her skates "do you think sometime you can teach me how to skate really fast like you Shadow?" she asked sweetly still wobbling to stay up.

"There she is!" came a voice. Shadow looked up to see Tails, Sonic and Amy run in.

Michelle playfully stuck out her tounge at Shadow's comment "Are you saying that because your worried I'll become far better then you?" she said smiling, just then Michelle heard fimilar voices come towards them, it was Tails,Amy and Sonic. As she turned around Sonic asked her what was going on, the young girl continued to smile and said "nothing much Shadow was just going to teach me how to skate that's all"

"But Michelle, you need your safety equipment on," said Tails, holding them up, "I mean, you might fall over and shatter your leg bones and it could stick out and blood could be everywhere and...." He was cut short when Sonic covered his mouth with his hand.

"Tails, I know you're still a kid, but don't scare her" he hissed. Amy walked over to Shadow.

"OK, Shadow, Sonic and I want to know....what have you been up to? You're behaving VERY strangely."

"None of your business!" retorted Shadow.

"What gives you the right to interupt us punishing our own daughter?"

"Do I HAVE to repeat myself?"
