To revisit this question, people that love the discipline aspect of spankings, either; are a person that is fed up with silly mistakes people make and just want to express that in a hope that a spanking will give incentive that it doesnt happen again, or a person with a guilty conscience that hates that they make silly mistakes or feel they make serious mistakes because they dont takeenough things seriously enough.


Why I like the erotic aspect and roleplay aspect more, is because I admit I LOVE to spank, and often, and it's tiresome to spank someone who repeatedly doesn't clearly learn from a disciplinary spanking, or purposely makes mistakes to "earn" a spanking.


I dont think many people "like" being spanked, but they usually like the dread/anticipation leading to it, and the feeling afterwards.

I have to say disagree about what leads to loving the disciplinary aspect of spankings? I think of it in a totally different way than managing silly mistakes.

I love that side because of the implication of relinquishing control to someone else who has one's best interests at heart, the additional embarrassment that comes with it being a punishment, and the domination/submission aspect of it being intended to truly modify behaviors. Admittedly, in real life, I think it can be beneficial to include "maintenance" or "therapeutic" spankings as well to provide that feeling without having to worry about needing a misdeed. (I don't tend to like brats for the reasons you mentioned about it being tiresome). In fiction, however, I can keep fanning myself about a spanking over being fussy turning the spankee adoring of the spanker. I love the "oh no, please stop, you handsome brute" of the old black and white movie spanking scenes.

That being said, I also do enjoy erotic spankings because of the fact that you can still have the rush of dominance/submission! Gotta say the disciplinary side is most attractive - like losing the choice in it, having to submit to authority, helpless to weasel out of it. Bonus points for the spanker being into it, while acting as though its purely disciplinary, meanwhile both parties know its a sexual thing.

That's a tough one. As a spanking author, I've written about both. On the one hand, I really like how playful spankings can have a light-hearted, naughty feel to them. You can imagine one person might playfully pull their friend/romantic partner over their lap and start spanking them. Then they might get naughty and start stripping off layers. I really like that, and I like how some of the playful spankings I've written have turned out.

However, I will say that there is something satisfying about having someone over your lap and giving them a brisk, stinging, spanking to the point where it's hard for them to take it without squirming around, pushing up against their boundaries. Not going over, mind you, but stretching them a bit.
