John looks from her to Jeremy, and then back again. Understanding her reasons, he nods softly, though he feels it only fair to warn her of a potential problem with her plan. So, he whispers back to her to explain it.

“Very well, though I had intended to only spank you over your jeans since he was here. Once he leaves, we'll handle your punishment as you're accustomed to, and as you deserve.”

He then looks up and raises his voice to a normal speaking tone.

“Jeremy, Tess would prefer it if you weren't here for her punishment, so please step into the bathroom for a moment, please.”

Tess lifted her head from her dad's shoulder when he whispered to her, giving him a sort of upset look since she might have chosen to take the spanking in front of Jeremy if she'd known that John was going to do it over her jeans if Jeremy was in the room, but it was too late for that now so she was just going to have to deal with it. Besides if that meant that Jeremy wasn't going to see her being spanked then it might actually be worth it. She waited while he asked Jeremy to go and wait in the other room and she watched the older teenager go, shooting an angry look his direction before looking back at John and fidgeting slightly as she thought about something before deciding that she was going to toss the dice and see how mad her dad was going to be at her for what she'd done. She knew John would be mad at her and the spanking might be worse but she would hopefully get Jeremy in trouble in the process and that made it worth it to her, especially since she was mad at him for blackmailing her.

He said that if I didn't let him spank me with that brush later then he'd tell on me, that's why I didn't try and pick a good one the first time I just wanted to get away from him." John listens patiently through Tess's story about what else had been happening, not particularly fond of what he's hearing about how either of them behaved. He sees no reason to disbelieve his daughter, though, since she's putting herself in more trouble because of it. He doesn't think that she'd make matters worse for herself just to get back at Jeremy. He doesn't make any immediate plans about how to handle it with Jeremy, though, because he does want to hear the boy's side, first.

“Very well. I'll have a word with him about it, and deal with it, if necessary. However, this means that you're adding another level of disobedience, young lady, as well as language unfitting for you to be using. If you had come out of that building, it would have taken my attention away from where it needed to be, and could have gotten me killed. I told you to stay inside for a reason.”

He taps the hairbrush on the back of her legs, indicating that it's time for her punishment to begin.

“Down with these jeans.”

Tess already knew before she started the story that she was going to get herself in worse trouble by confessing but she didn't really care about that, she thought it was worth it just to get Jeremy in trouble and make sure that the other teenager didn't have anything to hold over her head. So when John told her that she added another level of disobedience she groaned softly and gave him one of those 'puppy looks' that never worked but she always tried anyway since she sort of had to try and get out of being in trouble. "I just wanted to help you, I thought you'd get bitten without a weapon" She told him, sniffling a little since she'd already sort of been crying before this point and she was only fourteen so it was hard for her not to get emotional before a spanking. She jumped a bit when he tapped her leg, startled by that but when he ordered her to lower her jeans she just groaned again but reluctantly obeyed so she didn't make her situation worse by adding yet another count of disobedience to her growing tally. She tugged the jeans down to her knees, blushing a little bit as she did so, then looked at him and waited to see what he was going to do.

He then grips her firmly by her arm and pulls her forward, bending her across his lap with her bottom raised up enough to provide a suitable target for the punishment that was close to transpiring.

Tess pouted at John when he told her that she knew better, which was true but she didn't like hearing it, and she would have protested that she didn't care if it was against the rules since she couldn't lose him but she was distracted when he reached over and tugged her panties down to join her jeans at her knees. Of course she blushed at that, since it was just embarrassing to have her bottom bared by her daddy at fourteen, but she didn't fight him as he took her arm and bent her over his lap. "Why is this such a big deal for you? We do dangerous stuff all the time, I just wanted to help you" She asked, her voice sounding frustrated as she shifted uncomfortably over his lap and waited for the spanking to start, sort of dreading it since she knew it was going to hurt a lot more than the last one with that big square brush. “Yes, we do dangerous things all of the time. Hell, we live in a world that is positively full of danger all around us. However, every decision I make is intended to minimize the amount of danger that all of us face, not add to it. Smaller groups are less likely to attract attention than larger ones, so I only brought Jeremy with me because he could help me carry a few things back to the hotel. I could have brought everyone, and even the Hummer, but it would have all added up to increased chances that we'd be spotted by zombies. I would rather avoid them than fight them. I only had Bobby posted at the hotel to cover us if we had to run for it, not to pick them off if they got too close. It didn't matter that he couldn't see the strip mall because that's not why I had him watching us. His job was only to keep a path open for us to run back to the hotel if things got too hairy. He had a clean shot at the two out front, but I told him not to take it because it would attract others.”

No matter how much she might want to argue, John simply is not going to let her continue with the idea that she was somehow protecting him. If anything, she was putting him, and everyone else, in jeopardy with her actions. He isn't satisfied with that, and has no intention of allowing her to believe that it's okay. Tapping the brush against her pert cheeks, he pulls back and brings it crashing back down on her bottom with the force that all of her spankings have.

She was sort of surprised when he explained to her why Bobby was up there with the rifle, since she hadn't known it was meant to cover their escape and not to just cover them in general, but onc ehe explained it to her it made sense. She asked, her voice a little petulant since she may not have gotten herself into trouble if she'd known that before she just would have stayed where he told her to. She knew he didn't need to expalin things to her to expect her to obey him since she was still supposed to obey him she just would have liked it if he told her ahead of time. John punctuates every other word with a sharp swat to her raised backside, peppering his daughter's cheeks with painful blows. From the backroom, Jeremy keeps his ear pressed firmly against the door, listening in to all of the girl's punishment. Tess groaned softly when he scolded her for second guessing him, his lecture punctuated with yips and gasps of pain as he peppered her backside with painful blows from the brush with every other word. She bit her bottom lip when he pointed out that she spent all her time arguing with him then going off and doing it her way only to have bad results and that one sort of stung since those were accidents--at least she thought they were. "OW, Dad! I-ah!-I'm s-oww-sorry!" She choked the words out between her cries of pain, her rear end rapidly taking on color in response to what he was doing since he was hitting pretty hard and she was still tender from the earlier spanking.
