Talk to the elder, his daughter will take you on the shed quest.

You then have to wait for it to be cleared, I think you have to sleep (I always have) and it should be cleared the next day.

In PTC edition ONLY the INN works right now. In the OLD version you can play 3 whole towns and a few extras... Read the whole forum and you get all this information without too much effort and not get made to look like an idiot which would be coming pretty fast as this has been stated now at least 4 times.

You have to actually look at the roadblock first, get the 'maybe talk to the town leader?' message while trying to get past.
Then you can talk to him as you now have a problem to solve.

But as MILF mentions, if you're playing the new demo it will fail eventually.

If you're playing the older system (but more complete) you should be good to go.
