I don't think it has anything to do with the order of the shelves, but you do have to click every little section until you find the right ones. The character will comment about them.

You have to find certain books first to open the next ones.... They unlock in order.

She said two things so far, one about the alphabetical order then one about the ritual, i think i clicked on each shelf afterwards

EDIT: okay so this is.. probably one of the strangest design decisions i've seen, but if you're stuck it's in one of the shelves in the "history" section, if this is still getting updates i feel like adding different notes would help in indicating its not all the same

I would agree, that this portion needs a bit more fleshing out, it's part of the end of the game that does feel a bit rushed and this section had very little direction how to go about it. I'm sure it'll be explore a bit in some future update.

Also do not forget the blank book spanking scene is library too. One that needs maybe an side quest where the MC has to either get a certain number of spankings from his/her mom/dad, or not get other than the automatic one and the bedtime one that is promised or something along those lines.... (Would also love to have a repeatable set up there where you can go back into the book and have the mom auto spank you for other offenses, or you ask her to spank you for being a bad girl/boy but thats just me...) If I did not truly suck at eventing and so on, I would so do something with this in the version I have been oh so slowly working on.

The MC's mom will indeed be making another appearance in the next update, though not perhaps how and when you expect.

I like the idea of returning to the book, however; I'd be certainly open to expanding on that in a future update.

On a related note, I've always had plans to do a "flashback/origin story" for the MC and already have said backstory sketched out (note: although I have Bagool's blessing to delve into that, keep in mind this would be my own "take" that I came up with after first finishing the game) in a future "DLC"/update, and his/her family would at least get a mention and likely an appearance too.

That said, Milf, please feel free to go into more detail here or via PM about your hopes for an expansion to the book fantasy/family scene, as I am sure I could at least add a second visit (for said bedtime spanking, or a different encounter).

Well, in my defense I think I've hit far more strange design decisions than this in my gaming life... then again, in my experience what is "obvious" to the designer is certainly not always so for all players; adventure games are a very big example of that, IMO!

I have noticed quite a few people have got stuck on this part, though. In response, I have therefore added some "help" from the librarian if you talk to her during this subquest for the next update, and agree that changing the shelves to each give a different message so that the player will at least try each one in turn (I note that nobody has complained about a similar puzzle in Birch Manor, where all the shelves do give different messages).

The reason behind that puzzle in the archives though was that it was intended to involve a spanking scene or two, but those were cut in the rush to get the previous updates out. I hoped to add what I intended back in at some point (it wouldn't be too hard to guess the rough idea of what I had planned, I'm sure!), but might see if I can do so for the next update...

I suspect people will be less frustrated with the puzzle if it involved more spanking... I know that's how I'd feel!

Hope it's okay to chime in here, but I'd bet I'm far from the only one who would have liked to have seen the bedtime belt spanking the MC was supposed to get, though in true "more females" fashion I would prefer to see the mother doing the spanking when that option is enabled, of course.

I also searched high and low for a different way to get into trouble in the Royal library other than the blank book but alas...

Hi Banjo, love the game and all, but i have a question, is there a way to access the dungeon in frostpoint graveyard?, i have followed some hints, got a key with a snowflake engraved on it, and interacted with everything, even on NG+; is there something or is for the next update?

I think he took that part out of the game because the story/quest line dealing with that place was unfinished. I don't remember exactly and I'm feeling a little too lazy to go searching for it.
